RLP Barry, love your music, it always put me in a good mood whenever I hear it and my favourites songs are September When I First Met You and Sho You Right, they are great tracks and a lot better than You're The First, The Last My Everything.
My boyfriend has a voice like this and as Iam six months pregnant he speaks to my bump saying daddys here, and daddy loves you etc the baby always kicks whenever he hears his daddys voice. The babys dad is out at the mo I started watching this and the minute Barry started talking the baby started kicking, Iam laughing saying no thats not your dad lol
if it wasnt for barry white, i wouldnt have never accepted my deep voice as an asset...im not trying to brag, but since i was around 12 people have compared my low voice to barry white's voice...i thank God for him..i wish he was still alive today....RIP Barry White...tha tru Maestro
It seems like that shit he said about the 80's was the truth. I was born in '90 but It does seem like a bunch of artists just made a dance beat and layed a bunch of nonsense over it.
Barry White...is a lengend the voice speaks for its self .......thank you Rick Ross for bringin him back to the spot light.... check out Rick Ross Even deeper !
@mos973 The song featured in the Barry White interview is "Sho you right" from the 1987 album "The right night and Barry White". I have it on vinyl :-)
Barry White, was the epitome of what a lot of us young, 40-something, black dudes saw in our fathers and grand fathers....there was just a "coolness" about guys like him that was VERY ol' school...he didnt have to say much. He had an aggressive personality but it was masked by this classiness and coolness that is something of a lost art now.HIs body language speaks more than HE DOES, and you'll never see him sweat or get ruffled. Thats called "OL' SCHOOL COOL"..and the ladies love dudes like him
@PhoenixNubia "Sho' You, Right"..from the "Right Night With Barry White" album, I think. There is one more dance tune on there, "For Your Love", and all the other ones are ballads. I thought it was a VERY underrated album.
@cricket12ish Cuz, he had been doin it for 36 yrs..lol. When I was a little guy, my folks took me to see him in concert in Wash, DC, my hometown...he was at the KENNEDY CENTER with a full orchestra...it was the most incredible thing I had ever seen up to that point. The whole concert he was talkin in the 3rd person, and that was 1976. And Im sure he was talkin that way before 1976.
he's a fabulous man. you know, he said one true thing. his shit will last for ever cuz he had the whole knowledge, and new people are too close minded and have only a section.
He also said abut putting wisdom in the voice...
this man is incredible. people like sum all my thoughts... trully amazing
I'm sorry, but what was he even talking about? Barry White's voice does... um... things to me, so I guess it doesn't really matter what he says! Just keep talkin' bebeh!
I just saw on the news that Michael Jackson was claimed to have spoken like Barry White and that his high-pitched voice was an act or a "show-biz persona"
Barry White wrote positive muisc. Telling about his early years, does not mean he enjoyed being a criminal. He turned his life around and lived a positive life and gave a positive message.
barry white was always talking about what barry white used to be like .. with so much pride i seemed to think ..he werent saying it with a message an teaching the kids ... every interview i seen him do he would love going into his seedy past .. even though they were more interested in talking about now an his music ect
there's no doubt barry had a naturally deep voice but he still had to train it. it's the same with any talent or gift, you still need to train it to develop it and to be at its best. yes barry's voice is deep but he trained it everyday thru singing and other voice exercises to get that reeeeaaaal deeeep base and resonance. a deeper voice commands power and respect (not to mention sexiness to the girls). anybody can deepen their voice or just have a stronger voice thru training.
wrong. Listen to his voice when he sings. Its actually higher than when he talks normally. I highly doubt he trained his voice so he could talk deep in normal conversation (or to get ladies). If he did practice then it would be to hit the right notes/ chords etc. not to go deeper. Opera singers train their lungs and diaphragm so they can inhale and exhale deeper. Its helps them hold notes for longer and have greater control over their singing style. Not so much the deepness of the voice.
Barry White will always be special and very dear to me. I never knew the Maestro personally, But he created a fantasy for me and he will always live on in my fantasies. My Love for BW is even stronger than my love for even my siblings. I still miss BW and I still mourn the the loss of the greatest of them all
Mind & voice! Barry right about the wisdom & knowledge, he was a sensual teacher. His esoteric sensuality will live on through his music. Romance will never die....R.I.P. Mr White! YOU are & always will be missed, I find comfort in your music......
