  • everybody should dj like LBL, no laptops, just cjd's and djm's. or just vinyls

  • LOOK AT ME. I USE VINYL THIS MAKES ME A BETTER DJ THAN YOU. It's 21st century, calm the fuck down. All of the best sets and SHOWS I have ever seen are ones that use controllers, ableton live etc. get with it

  • If you can't or have never spun vinyl....THEN YOU ARE NOT A REAL DJ!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is why people should go back to using vinyl... leave the computers at home you wankers

  • @MetalMastar Vinyl is dead? hahaha! Hardly. I'd prefer to listen to vinyl any day over some shitty, compressed mp3. Laptop dj's suck.

  • @VincentsVideoVisions Your ability to pluralise sucks. Count it

  • @buddaben10 Blow me. It's YouTube.

  • @VincentsVideoVisions Can't argue with that :P

  • @VincentsVideoVisions The problem is that they don't make vinyl records anymore.

  • @TheOfficialEuro Bwahahaha!! Come out from under your rock man. Vinyl has never died... there's still a LOT of vinyl coming out, but these days people don't want to PAY for music and quality.

  • @TheOfficialEuro what?

  • @VincentsVideoVisions Or at least go back to using cd's... leave the computers at home you wankers

  • @VincentsVideoVisions well ma friend used from those LP look alike things and that aint worked out great either i broke while he was spinning hiss shit lmfao

  • @wattesutube Pardon me, but "LP look alike thing" is NOT VINYL so OBVIOUSLY it's still just as bad as any Digital Format. Holy crap, make some sense before you talk.

  • I thought the dj had died during the set...

  • sd cards and cdj 2000's is all u need

  • a good DJ can keep the crowd going even when shit like this happens! it's just unlucky and happens to so many people! vinyls get scratches and skip the needle/ or the needle or the connections to the needle breaks, cd's get scratched or chipped and cannot be read by the player and laptops can crash. everything has got a problem with it! shit happens ;)

  • macs do die....they may not catch a virus but yea they crash. its called hardware failure, i know cuz mine did. 4 months into djing. bought new from best buy. at the end of the day... its still a piece of electronic. my hard drive failed... no matter what you classify a crash. if it stops working or wont boot...its a crash

  • Saving up for a good turntable set, any ideas?? I am in college so nothing too crazy money wise haha right now I have a MixTrack Pro and do pretty well with it so if theres a similar turntable/mixer combo like the Numark, lemme know!

  • computers are the Dj'ing future, sure we can retain our vinyl ways but amalgamate it in the ever growing technology we see today :)

  • What did he say??!? The buffet tables now open?? lol

  • with vinyl the needle brakes

  • @LeeOn181: I've been using needles for over 25 years. They NEVER broke.

  • used vinyl

  • ladies and gentlman this is why we create two partitions with the software on both lol

  • Calvin Harris is shit.

  • @NiksDjs he's an ego maniac prick played in my town last year hate him

  • the deal with mac; it fails when you needs it the most

  • MAC does not "die"

  • "Macs dont crash"

    LOL

  • thats what you get for using a mac...

  • 5 years later james is still looking for 'killsyou99's' comment...he's running out of supply's

  • vinyl doesnt crash...

  • @katetacular vinyl is fucking huge and heavy. please argue that in a world where convenience is so important. as much as i love it, i could never use it. Brodinski hasn't even purchased one vinyl himself, so clearly vinyl isn't the only way.

  • @katetacular yeah and????? vinyl skips, warps in the sun, weighs loads, cost loads,a shit to carry round, hard to find, need 2 copies if reqired unlike pc...... do you want me to go on? i have used them all and pc is now the way sorry

  • @ajohnstitch: what kind of a "dj" are you?? vinyl skips? not if u have the right weight on them. warps in the sun? 'been playing over 25 years in countries with 40 degrees plus, still top notch like the day I bought them. they weigh loads? they invented something called "flight cases" try it. cost loads? not for real dj's that promote the productions cuz they get them for free. do you want ME to go on? if u wanna use pc's fine but don't make urself out to be an expert cuz u know shit!

  • @ajohnstitch: You just showed that you're one of those wannabe dj's who has shit for brains and are an insult to real Dj's. So shut the fuck up and keep sucking your dad's dick cuz that's all you're good at.LMAO

  • @ajohnstitch: You've done "this job" for over 20? Yeah, right, I can see that from your idiotic comments. RedPen is right, you're a moron who thinks by insulting people he has the upper hand and then calls others "childish". Stick your high-tech up your ass.

  • @monkeybone286 Another one who will not move on....How sad

  • @ajohnstitch: It is indeed sad. It has nothing to do with "moving on". It has to do with preserving an Art. Go on, keep pushing a button and feel good about yourself thinking you're being creative. I reckon you're also one of those who thinks Digital is better sound quality than Analog. LoL

  • @ajohnstitch how you can compare the skills of a vinyl DJ to a crappy tv or phone is beyond me WHAT A LOSER YOU ARE

  • flash drive and cdj 2000's.... no vinyl, no cd's, no laptops :)

  • @katetacular oh yes they do.... and when they do you cant fix it...

  • @katetacular it does skip a lot though in some of the clubs I've played! lol

  • the only thing i have against djs who use a laptop is it does take away from any sort of beatmatching. hit the sync button and boom, youre saved. love cdj's, have never touched vinyl although i have buddies who use it. but then you are limited so much from the capabilities you have with cdjs or other cd players. and this is why i look up to laidback luke. dude is a beast on them. As for Calvin Harris, hes probably been through it all. lap top for him shouldnt even matter.

  • @hxcgabrielhxc Depends on the software, most djs; if they are really serious use Serato Scratch Live which has no sync button :)

  • @nfsdre94 I now keep an emergency wallet of CDs with me, just in case of disaster. If I had the money, it would be a case of buy a second macbook and mirror them :D

  • @nfsdre94 yes thank you

most people who comment don't even know this ie people who leave stupid comments

  • haha . what a cunt

  • Happened to me and it was the HD. I had used the original HD for years and it would act up. Had a few retards say "dude you should got a dell" lol.

  • he still got his money, approx £20,000.

  • wow djing with a laptop :/ everyone can dj with a laptop

  • @Djeugepr just like everyone can play the piano with a piano.

  • @Djeugepr

What do you mean by that? lol. It's the same.

  • I like Calvin Harris he is a great producer, but common man ,in a lot of places you cant use a MAC.With a mac ,everybody can Djing :/

  • Kingpav i hear you. Some of the biggest critics for me were other DJs who would hate on me for using first of all a PC when i first used digital mixing. One even called me a cheater for not using CDs at the time. Now the same prick is using a laptop. I however am using a mac and he still hates on me. Music is music whatever the format. DJ's should be free to use which ever format is most beneficial to them at the time. Well that is just my opinion.

  • who cares bout vynil djs or mp3 djs if the set makes you dance? ive read "technique is everything" ok,thats just bullshit to me.MUSIC TASTE is everything

  • eesh, doesnt really matter what djs use, vinyl's are dead, the only genre where vinyls are common is drum and bass. However, only the old school dnb guys use vinyl. All the younger generations are sticking with cdjs, its what your brought up with or what you start using first.

  • I think the arguments as to what a dj and producer is and who is what are hilarious.

All the big boys use laptops, no fucker is using just vinyl if they are doing well unless it's for nostalgic reasons on the night.

Anyone arguing about who's a dj or a producer is definately not in the music biz because the pro's don't care about the format, their job is to keep everyone sweating, gurning and bouncing and that's why they are where they are and why you're left to argue on Youtube.

    Losers!

  • would never happen playing vinyl.

  • notttzzzzzzz woooooooo

  • the technical aspect is awesome, i agree....but now, everyone with a mac or laptop thinks, he is the greatest dj ever...give him 2 turntables or 2 cd-player and that's it....no feeling for the music...technic does everything....i mean not every dj, man...there are much dj's, who are doing a fuckin' great set !

  • This should happen more often ! Where is the good old dj time??!! Fuckin' laptop dj's !

  • @System5Music Its a new convenient way to DJ'ing. It's cheaper but provides the same quality. Instead of bashing it, try embracing it as a new age of music. It's different, but it's certainly not bad.

  • @System5Music well stay in the past man...don't bash others.

  • @System5Music: totally agree with u. and for all the wannabe experts here that know shit about real dj's... number one: it's DJ for Disc Jockey. started with "disc" alike vinyl and the designation can only stretch itself as far as Cd's as it still falls into the category of a disc. Someone using laptops, ipods, whatever can not be called a Dj. maybe "Pj". Dj'ing is an Art but don't expect these guys that "know everything better" to understand that.

  • doesnt matter if the computer beatmatches for you or not, if you have shitty song selection your mix sucks no matter what...

  • Deadmau5 is not a DJ. He said it himself. Thats final.

  • @verheesmusic

Dont take it too personally ;) Its just YT. Thanks for your reasonably toned reply though ;)

  • ok so the third thing is this" woooowooowooowowowoooowooowoowoowowoowoowowowow make some noise"

  • If your using a computer program to DJ with you should always have a backup mp3 player on another channel just in case

  • "Macs dont crash" LOL TROLL FACE

  • @J4M3SPR

    Yes they do!

  • Where exactly did he die in the video?

  • I love how most of the people that argue about DJs and producers arent DJs or producers

  • A dj with a computer? That's not a dj ;-)

  • @verheesmusic

Your obviously an idiot. You can do things with Traktor that just are NOT POSSIBLE on decks. Its a different way of being a DJ, but simpletons will never understand. And let alone playing from Ableton, most 'traditional' DJ's would SHIT themselves if they had to play a live performance from Ableton. Its MUCH more complex then beatmatching. Ignorance is pathetic..... ergo....

  • @FurryFerris Your comment is rather pathetic thinking I'm an idiot ;-) You've got a point, but beatmatch is the most common used feature of every "DJ".

  • @FurryFerris: so for u dj's playing vinyl old skool is just beatmatching? are you fucked in the head?

  • no back up cds??? what a loser

  • I think its funny how you guys are arguing about Dj's and Producers haha!! they can go either way but Seriously Deadmau5, Skrillex, and other artist who use a laptop and Midi Controller are not really DJ's. they are more less just an artist. I think it takes more talent to spin records then it is to press a pad button that starts the song/loop/sample and have a computer automatically sync the BPM's for you but that's just my opinion. we do have some Amazing Technology =D

  • @sillyraggamuffin PLS STFU. Look at Liebing, Hawtin and the once again, Say this People are no DJ's

  • @LicensedPuffy22 Haha "PLS STFU" winning letters there =p

  • @Nd008957 dude ur a fucking moron fuck u little piece of test fucking dumbass u don't anything about music

  • Dude u obviously don't no Wat ur talking about Most DJ's scratch and mix other peoples music and tracks most of them don't even fucking create their own music deadmau5 is not a fucking DJ he's a live producer he doesn't even touch turntables he uses a mixer to cue and transition different songs fucking idiots

  • @killsyou99 I like to dance with hot sweaty half-naked women. Who cares if the guy playing the music is a "DJ" or "Producer" or "iPod"? LOL

  • @killsyou99 You realize the term djing refers to the ability to jump from sound sample to sound sample? and litteraly means Disc jockey jumping from record to record, but now applies to sound to sound?

  • this is why we use PC's

  • This is pretty funny to read, in my opinion a producer who sits at home making tracks and selling them isnt a dj, AS SOON as he touches a turntables, he is not a dj, when he's mixing his tracks together instead of just playing one at the end of another THEN he is a dj, i am a dj, have been for neally 7 years, never produced, i have alot of producer friends, some i would class as dj's because they create there music, and mix them into each other properly, not just "Cue point 1, play"

  • For all of you who think that a producer isnt a dj, youre a MORON. A producer who plays his tracks live with a set of turntables is a dj as well. If not then they would just sit at home producing music for themselves and for mainstream artists, get paid for it and that's it. Once they touch a turntable it already makes them a dj no matter how bad or good they are at it.

  • i though this said calvin harris died xD

  • He's not a Dj I hate when ppl say oh I like DJ deadmau5 and DJ Skrillex their not fucking DJ's just because they have turntables doesnt mean they're DJ's.........A DJ doesn't make their own music

  • @killsyou99 They're producers/DJs.

  • @killsyou99 A dj makes their own music. They're mostly producers also. Deadmau5 is a dj, he plays his own music, belteks music, Just cause he produces some crap songs dont mean he aint a dj.

  • @Twinkfactory1 deadmau5 doesnt like the term dj on him

  • @Twinkfactory1 A DJ is someone who Mixes other peoples music/samples.. A producer makes his own music from scratch.. there is a Difference.. Dead Mouse is a Producer..

  • @SgtPickledic Idiot if Deadmau5 grabs some turntables and mixes his own music, THAT MAKES HIM A DJ YOU DUMBASS!!!!! What the fuck do you think he's doing then.

  • @nd008957 So you call me a Idiot because I'm right?? like i said a DJ mixes Other People Music/Samples.. WTF are you on about?? Using his own Turn Tables to mix his own music don't make him a DJ.. He IS A PRODUCER you fucking Spook. IF HE WAS A FUCKING DJ IT WOULD SAY DJ Deadmau5 you fucking ignorant dumb ass. HIS TITLE IS PRODUCER! KEY WORD "PRODUCER!!!!!!" GET THAT THREW YOUR FUCKING THINK SKULL>> LOOK UP DJ's THEN LOOK UP PRODUCERS.. You might fucking learn something today..

  • @SgtPickledic

im having a laugh right now... What the fuck kind of arguement is the title?? A DJ is the one playing/mixing/controlling the music, its as simple as that. So if you produce your own music your not a DJ, fucking idiotic if you ask me. AND! even tho most djs now a days are using a laptop to control the music, does not tell that their not live mixing guys, its just so that you dont have all the mess of having TONS and TONS of discs with you all the time and burning them. Period

  • @SgtPickledic DJ stands for disk jockey, wich means the dude who's launching any songs at all at the party, it's an old term. Dead mouse is a dj, he plays and mixes beltek songs live, He is ALSO a producer.

  • @killsyou99 A dj doesn't make their own music? So Carl Craig doesn't make his own music. Jeff Mills doesn't make his own music... sorry, you probably don't know any of these guys anyway. I make my own music out of other peoples music when I dj too... thats what a real dj is supposed to do... not auto cue, auto sync and play tracks like a frigging jukebox like most BJs do these days..oh sorry, thats Button Jockeys lol - no discs used in the production of this jukebox set - like watching paint dry

  • @killsyou99 Ahahahaha you just looked like a total dumbass on Youtube..... haha saying a dj doesnt make their own music. So how do you think most of them starting their career?? hahaha you're pathetic. Obviously you dont shit about music or even DJn

  • @killsyou99 Lol. Reminds me of the last line in instrumental Ghosts N Stuff. "I am a producer, and I come from the underground, and quite frankly I'm sick and tired!" Lol yeah. DJ Deadmau5 and DJ Skrillex? Just no. Lol. You like them? If so, you earn my respect.

  • @killsyou99 their playing song on a turn table a flip track to track, if they werent dj's they would be sitting there on stage in silence unless they sat there with an ipod.

  • Somebody posed to die. The fuck is this?

  • Fuck u Asshole

  • @killsyou99 hahahahaha

  • a lot of live producers prefer not u use vinyls they use either numarks or Pioneer Djm-800

  • @killsyou99 Stupidest comment I ever heard!

  • @bensolloway How do you hear a comment, on youtube?

  • @killsyou99 what? lol

  • @killsyou99 lol!

  • calbin harris? a DJ AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

  • @ANGELO13111 its like david guetta he makes music in the charts but also dj's and makes other non chart music.. deadmau5 isnt a dj he says so himself he makes music and tours. he says " i havent touched a cdj in my life"

  • That's a rare sight. A mac that has died.

  • wouldent happen with vinys

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore yeah vinys....ya mean vinyls? seems like you know A LOT about DJing especially with "vinys" haha

  • @nukifyoubukk515 madmac.

  • @nukifyoubukk515 oh i know plenty im just type like a retard lol

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore nobody uses them anymore. they're not as good as electronic mixing stations. and decks for live play. analog is less predictable. sounds better, but less reliable.

  • @HerrMueller93 less reliable? only if your a tit who dosent look after his records, how can you call analog less reliable after this video? with vinyl you arnt stood there like a tool waiting for the music to come back, theres not much skill in laptop djing, its all auto beatmatched etc, you cant do that with a vinyl hence no cheating and acctully having to put effort in rather than pressing buttons all night,

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore haha i wasn't even trying to troll, but you're so ignorant, it makes it easy on me. I can tell you from experience that laptop mixing is no easier. they're the same in technique. the only difference is the source, and with a laptop, you're monitoring more of them. haha c'mon kid. GOML. I just put out two new tracks tonight. one with two sample source that would be possible 10 years ago, and one with 6 that would be very impossible. people don't records for a reason.

  • @HerrMueller93 one with two sample source? what the fuck are you on about? and i can tell you from experience it is, all your doing with serato is cuing, thats why most of the time you never see them touch the pitch fader! other than that its the same.

  • @HerrMueller93 Laptops and decks equally as hard?? Whatever man. I'm a vinyl purest but in recent times I have crossed over to Traktor and that controversial Sync button. Most laptop djs would be sittin in the dark if there was no technology to help mix. I must say that at 41 after 25yrs of lugging records & own 9000 of them, I'm enjoying the computer doing most of the work for me but don't say they are equally as hard. It aint true. Why do you think they invented dj software in the first place?

  • @KevSchism ha we may be talking about two very different things. im not talking about cuing songs. thats much harder analog. im talking about mixing, and creating totally new music. electronic music has to come from electronics. analog synths of yesteryear, or digital synths like i use.

  • Ya can't touch be touchin' the equipment

  • fuck mac!!

  • @elmaspison heyyy easy baba... I've been using windows since... well forgot.. since windows was made me very pissed... mac actually very dependable
