What do you know about fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for The Long Night, when the white walkers move through the woods. When the sun hides for years, and children are born and live in die, all in darkness.
Cersei, evil? I... I don't think the books portray her as evil, actually. She's manipulative, double-dealing, ruthless... but I think for evil, I'd look at Joffrey or Gregor Clegane, really.
Joffery is even more clearly evil than she is, he's pretty much a demon child. Theres also other clearly evil character like the mountain, but most people are much more neutral.
@beadfulheart er...what about the Bloody Mummers? The slave owners in aSoS and AFFC? Gregor Cleagane? C'mon..Cersei? She's almost amusing by the time she hits self-destruct mode.
LOTR showed us the humanity of characters? I'm sorry, but LOTR showed us 1 dimensional personalities at best...it was cool to watch, but the characters seriously lack some depth...not that it's any different in most fantasy books...
she obviously has not read, or at least understood the books, she called Ceresi Lannister evil!! Ceresi is zealous, ambitious, and willing to do anything to protect her children or herself. She is one the antagonists of the story, but she is not evil. The very essence of this series is that there is no good or evil, just people doing what they feel must be done.
this woman is a buffoon. she has no composure, eloquence, or comprehension of what she's saying. four minutes of talking with absolutely nothing said.

Those playing Tyrion and Eddard are going to be brilliant, and although Cersei is a great actress I dont like the way she has acted out what I saw of Cersei so far. That is my opinion at least. I see Cersei as a more suductive ruthless not just simply ruthless and I dont see the suductive part, although she is one pretty lady.
Normally i'm not one to comment on the obvious. But i'm finding it very difficult to pay attention to her words. This woman is stunningly beautiful. I've had to keep rewinding it to stop and actually listen haha.
@ktchong I have read the books and listened to the audio versions. Fans know the "evil queen" is Cersei Lannister so didn't have to say her name. ;-)
@ablaaa Though I tend to get a wee bit excited when it comes to my beloved fantasy books/genre, I actually did say "Game of Thrones" (no extra "the") Where did you hear that?
@greattvshows452 Oooh... but he is going to be epic. my firend ;) This queen is something extra...... watch out for spoilers though! This seriess/books are best becoming surprised by all twists and turns.... you are in for a ride...
@AgentOliver Oooh... but you shouldn't miss this just because of one louy actress.... (I myself have no opinions about her acting yet) It's a heck of a story!! Almost better than sex..
@chriser555 they are planning on covering one book per season. so season one is A Game of Thrones, season 2 will be A Clash of Kings and so forth. Sadly i find it unlikely the series will ever be completed, since many of HBO's other series like Rome and Deadwood got cancelled entire seasons earlier then they were expecting.
@arabiancowofdeath I think the problem with both of those shows is they didnt appeal to a broad enough audience, and in the case of Rome, was really only interesting if you were a fan of history. Deadwood was plagued by having far too many well paid actors. They actually didnt cancel the show, they just refused to rneew the actor's options.
I think success will be based on: 1. They're sticking very close to the novels plot line/wording, etc. and 2. They're not making it hokey cheese fantasy.
@ThinkHeroTV if you like this one you should see also Spartacus: Blood and Sand (season 1) and Spartacus Gods of the Arena (season 2). similar style but more blood and you can see Xena tits finally xD
WOULD SPANK

I think Cersei is miscast. Just like Catelyn Tully. Aside from those two - simply love it.

i do agree, HBO is prolly the only company which is able to make it right.

In the game of thrones you win or you die.
The book is about survival, not about good vs evil. You learn that from the end of the first book.

@PaulDenise613 for the purposes of a TV show - she opposes the hero (Ned) == evil.
