@UniversalCook This is a Moroccan band from the Amazigh Souss region. FYI, there are 3 major Amazigh groups in Morocco (Souss in the south , Rif in the north & Zemour in the middle). Some also count a forth group "nomadic Touaregs" in the Sahara that stretch all the way from Morocco to Mali.
@UniversalCook The band's name is "Ait Baamrane" Ait is the Amazigh equivalent of "Ahl" in Arabic. The singer's name is "Lhoucine ait baamrane" There is an awesome clip under his name, and also a great set of VCD2009 clips that feature a typical Soussi wedding. Hope that helps.
@UniversalCook As for the name of the song, I am not sure that there is one. It seems more like a folkloric cocktail of wedding songs from the Atlas Mountains. I am curious though, what sparked your interest in our music? Not even Moroccan Arabs care for it, so to see a Lebanese person take interest, it both flattering and surprising.
@meincats wallah i love all types of music!! but i 100% love moroccan music and food and culture its amazing because in lebanon we are arabs and our culture is arabic with french and turkish bits i love my country but if i was to be any other country i would love to be from morocco and in lebanon our music is voted the best in the arabic world i.e. nancy ajram etc but i love north afrikan music as it makes you wana dance even thought people say music is hiram!how can this magical music be hiram!
Correction: GROUPE AIT BAAMRAN IS FROM AIT BAAMRAN REGION AND EXACTLY SIDI IFNI CITY THE OLD DOOR OF SAHARA NOT SOUS REGION AS U SAID,AND THEY ARE THE REAL PEOPLE OF SAHARA NOT THE HASSANI PEOPLE,AND BY THE WAY SOUS ARE AMAZIGH OF MASMODA AND AIT BAAMRAN ARE THE AMAZIGH OF SENHAJA SO DONT MIX THE NAMES AND THE CULTURES PLZ.
Perhaps you're right in terms of where exactly the lines lie, because I have not studied the history myself nor have I looked into the exact geography of the area. However, I am 100% Soussi and I can tell you that this guy sings in my tongue! Furthermore, I am aware of at least one dispute over the history of our ancestors in Essaouira (Ihahane). Could there be different versions of the history depending on who you talk to? Peace out.
@meincats first i speak from a real historical facts known , which should any amazighi person know it ,that there is thre kinds of amaizgh people in the nord of africa: 1:znata which live in nord of morocco and also in algerie and berkan, ouajda ,nador ...,2: amazigh of masmoda they are zayan, ihahane or haha ur home ,and imintanout,mtouga,sous... and there is amazigh of senhaja : they live in the desert and by the way ait baamran was the one of the biggest tribes in senhaja
@meincats and the old name of the place of this tribes was lamta and they area was from massa to tarfaya ,i have alot of informations and u can search by your self before u write and give informations to people about somethings u dont know it,u have to be sure first ok bro, well about the tangue ,do u know why ur town is ihahane or haha names?? because all of sous speak with the letter of (h) or الحاء,but in ait baamran they dont, they speak with the letter (Gh) or غ,
@meincats and we are different in many words which sometime as a BAAMRANI 100% i cant understand some words in ur tangue soussia and we are also different in the clothes ,sorry bro im not a racist man but i cant be something which im not, take care.
