I agree. I think his presentation of this effect is terrible because this is an opportunity to involve the spectators (here they are too distanced). He also didn't build it up to a climax as oz pearlman does on penguinmagic. He could learn from them.

ammar is much more accomplished than oz i know that. But this is an exception. I'll break it down; he begins by explaining what he's going to do, as opposed to eliciting a challenge and evoking an emotional response or presenting a 'magical' idea. When he reveals the first phase of the routine, he almost shrugs it off ('uhh no you gotta trust me im just explaining how its done') as if its normality, instead of building up suspense towards a climax. No involvement of spec, talks about himself.

Ammar's approach is not to challenge your audience's intelligence in a "sucker effect" like the "3 card monte". This is in my opinion the correct way to perform this effect as well as other similar effects such as "color monte" and the "3 shell game".
