I'm a guy, and I found a way to alter socks to be worn with Toms. I bought regular ankle socks and highlighted the area exposed, with the Toms on. Then I cut that part out (and a little more) and now wear socks with my Toms.
@spacegiraffezz B/c where I am, I'm called gay for wearing those shoes, and at the time, I guess I was tired and speak my mind. Sorry if I offended you... =/
I am sooo going to try baking soda. I love my flats, they look sooo cute with my skinny jeans. When Im chilling with my boyfriend, I kinda cant help playing with my flats with my feet..and o..m...g!!! iIl get a sneaky quick hint of stinky feet!!! so embarassing :'( Thanks! :)
Thanks for the video! I've also found that Silver Linings work really well. They're shoe inserts that get rid of odor, and they prevent the insides of your shoes from getting dirty in the first place. They use silver ions to deal with bacteria and odor, and they're super thin so I never feel them in my ballet flats.
What about perspiration? What's my biggest problem with flats and the reason why I wear socks most of the time. My feet sweat quite a bit...it makes wearing shoes without socks very uncomfortable.
OMG thanks so much for this video! I can relate because my favorite shoes by far are my Chestnut Minnetonka Moccasins which are slip ons and they can definitely begin to have a bad odor depending on how long they're worn. This was really helpful I think i'll try the insoles first since those seem to be more effective.
I think it's important to mention that if you plan on using the terry cloth insoles in a pair of shoes all the time, make sure to get that pair of shoes a half size bigger to accommodate the insoles.
I bought this awful pair of shoes that stink. They stank after 30 minutes of wearing them. I was worried it was me, but my runners and other shoes don't smell. I know someone else who had the same shoes and she said the same thing and threw them out the next day. I've tried everything from baking soda to ripping out the insoles and washing them, to filling them with hand sanitizer. So sometimes ladies, it's not you. It's the shoe. lol :)
Most guys like smelly female feet. So don't make any adjustments.
