  • OM !

  • what can i say ........its already been said

  • great song to relax to

  • Namaste

  • red baron, maybe someone licked the back of a stamp, LOL

  • One of Michael Pinder's finest moments, with the group throwing in enthusiastically, playing mostly unfamiliar instruments. Listening to the ecstatic vocal fadeout, I feel a lot like the exalted fellow on the album's (In Search of the Lost Chord) cover!

  • 6 people are dead from the neck up.

  • Hey Nicky...the rain was on the roof...hurry hi butterfly... searth for 'alitzia silverlage'

  • If you take away the sitar breaks you basically have the sounds and sweeping harmonies of Natal, Drakensberg and Swazi locales. This is Africa, man.

  • @MarijuanaMichelle wish u were here

  • my favorite Moody Blues song. Heeeeaaaven.

  • @shinyapples mine too friend.aaaaaaaaaaaooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • For all my friends from the 60's relax

  • Dont forget to look up Mike Pinder on you tube to see hows he been. You'll like it.i going to look up Ray Thomas tonight.Rum nd Coke here i come...Thanks moodies for the music...

  • I've actually finally found this track!!!!! My Mum used to play this in the 70's and it's stuck in my mind since I was 4 or 5!!

  • I remember buying this album (In Search of the Lost Chord) back in 1968. Back then, there were no MP3 or digital downloads, no compact discs or other fancy techno-crap. I still have that record to this day, although it's now together with a load of vinyl records in a cardboard box in my brother's lock-up. Playing the Moodies music to-day still sounds just as good as it did forty-three years agoand I'm grateful to You-Tube to know there are still many Moodies fans still out there. Blessings !

  • OM = LSD

  • @AZ09astrophysicist i just had one of those Flash Backs i was promised back in the 70s ! lol

  • @Mac10Mackey NICE! LOL!

  • I wish I could take different songs and make a journey, but which ones. There all so good.I like the idea of putting my head back and fading into the music.

  • i aquired this album in the early 70s it was great then an is still great now i am no longer a hippie and this album still has got the same feel

  • Brings me back to a peaceful time when the world seemed to be in chaos.

  • hurry high butterfly

  • Michael Pinder was the real acid freak of the ............... OMMMMM

  • The harmonies in this song are just beautiful..... :)

  • such knowledge versed in words. Peace

  • Actually, the spoken part at the beginning is a separate piece of poetry called "The Word", which is meant to preceed the song "OM" as it does here and in the Album (IN SEARCH OF THE LOST CHORD, I believe), but if you try to buy stuff from itunes and the like you will be very disappointed if you only get "OM" without "The Word". The two support and magnify each other and neither was ever intended to stand alone.

  • for sure they followd the beatles to india, wel a good step for simple englisch boy,s.

i wonder what the boy,s are thinking of this music today.

mind you the first western group to perform in then red china

  • aauumm

  • om goooood

  • Mellotron = Pinder

  • Wow. I was too young for this when it came out. Mike Pinder, amazing creator of sound.

  • I got to see the Moody Blues in 1968....It was pretty amazing. This was one of those songs I would play over and over until I drove my folks crazy - but that was the whole idea wasn't it?

  • A little bit of herb in my pipe please

  • @Vincenteloco I'm hardcore... I want a lot of herb in my pipe....

  • ...or a "SPECIAL LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER"

  • @peterpercivalpatters Timothy Leary would approve...

  • @unclebob100 Too bad Timothy Leary is dead.

  • @Southernmetalhippie Timothy Learys' not dead...haven't you heard the Moody Blues tune "Legend of A Mind" ? Lol!

  • @unclebob100 Yes, I have. That's what I was referencing. And I know that he's outside looking in.

  • @Southernmetalhippie Right on...

  • @Southernmetalhippie did you know that nasa gave permission to enter his body in space he is circling the earth still

  • Vibrating..Stimulating..EMANCIPATION !!!

    Thanks RedBaron

I love Pinder's deep music. Mike was the centre of the Moodies in the beginning.

  • incommensurabile :)

  • fabulous~peace

  • I have only just found out about this band today and so glad i have done too! They are incredible!

  • take a hit...and sit back groovy baby

  • I'm free Tuesday afternoon, and If there's anyone person who needs there brain washed out it's me,Have to admit my thunder was stolen when told about the clothing, I do however have white shoes with matching belt,

  • Got me thinking about trying acid again.

  • Ya me too. I think it's good to wash your brain out now and again. We can cut class and meet at Itchycoo park. haha.

  • OK, how about Tuesday afternoon? I'll be the guy in the velvet blue bell bottoms and the lime green Nehru Jacket.

  • I downloaded this album, In Search of the Lost Chord, and was especially fond of this work.

    Thank you Moody Blues.

  • hearing this for the first time ,set me up to be a big fan of the moody blues, long shall they reign

  • nice piece of work :)

  • OMG... I haven't heard this one in decades. What an amazing piece by the MB's... especially in this long-play video. Wheew... sure brings back the (foggy-fuzzy) memories!

They should play this vid every day before the 6 o'clock news. The country would be in a much better place because of it :-)

  • have a nice trip

  • Did these guys moonlight as snake charmers?Quit bogartin and pass it already. Some of the best stuff ever!

  • Very groovy; beautiful song!!!

  • Ahh, The Moody Blues are so underrated. Their music is what we will hear in heaven. What other band sings about such quality fruitful things in their music? Oommm...

  • I started to get teary eyed when I see this clip which to me the Moodies made music so creatively that no other bands have ever come close to the gentle humane of what this band created during their peak. This was one of their best works they arguably had ever done.

  • The Moodies, the absolute of believing that Humanity has a chance.

    Toke, relax and listen.

  • They say the first Om was uttered by God.

  • Ohm\\\\the resistance

  • just watched/listened to focus hocuspocus, another classic, it occurred to me focus seemed to be in search of the lost chord --- the moody blues music is so beautiful i get all weepy

  • A- the opening mouth (universe)/ The Big Bang

    U- the breath/continuing creation

M-the closing of the lips/The Big Crunch

  • wow, never considered that.

  • There is more significance to this song than the psychedelic associations of the 60s. Research: sacred geometry, cymatics, solfeggio frequencies, electromagnetic spectrum. Enjoy THAT trip!

    ~Peace and Freed Om~

  • Listen to this in surround sound after smoking some really great hash. Or brownies laced with herb. My favorite song on the "Lost Chord" album. Apologies to the late, great George Harrison, who introduced the Sitar sound on "Sgt. Pepper," but Justin takes playing Sitar to new highs, (pardon the pun). Beautiful flute, tablas, all coming together.

  • why does turkey look so down on the export of its product (sadistic prison at best )(midnight express) unlike afghanistan?

  • Ithaca Rocks! and so does this song!

  • Pure Bliss 5****** namaste -^-

  • This was my wedding song! In 2000!

  • Wow! Your wedding song! Nice!

  • I liked some of their early songs. Then I heard Seventh Sojourn and I became a total fan! I went out and got all their albums. Classics!

  • I guess they edited out the bong gurgle in the background!!

  • @FergusonTO35 Somebody will have to update and re-mix this tune then...and add in the hum of a Volcano vaporizer fan!

  • @FergusonTO35 I have liked the Moody Blues for along time. I really like this OM. Every time I listen to this I see your comment. Makes me laugh every time.

  • @FergusonTO35 I'm sure someone among us would be happy to add in that sound :)

  • Me too!

  • Have all of thier old vinyls and spent many a nite on LSD listening to this on headphones,, amazing the images and colours that went past my closed eyelids

  • i love LSD!! and the moodies.

  • Thanks Red Baron. Enjoyed the visual..

  • ★★★★★★★★★★★★★ :)

    completely relaxed now ...

drugfree - just spirit and AUM!!!

    thank you, Lara ;)

  • attagirl!

    Tom in Utica NY

  • no, telsport, just clever and independent - very egoistic!

    Lara in Germany ;)))

  • lara !!!!!

fancy finding your comment here on the moody blues om clip

what are the chances of that?

    pretty good i'd say lol

    ommmmm

    grettings from oztralia

  • There is only one word "OM!"

  • i wanna go with these guys go where they went

  • put on a set of headphones......take a magical trip...........as I have done for many years with the Moodies..........

  • Acid trip?

  • You don't need drugs -acid, weed, as mentioned by posters below and every other classic rock video - to enjoy this kind of music.

So how about you stop advertising drugs?! Oh, you smoked weed with your friends with this song on, eh? OMG

Well, you certainly are COOL, Abercrombie & Fitch. -_-

ps. needless to say, great song. Indian instruments very well used here. :)

  • but they help, nonetheless

  • of course you dont need them to enjoy it, but holy shit man, trippin to this is so far beyond simply enjoying it. its heavenly, its a guide to achieving cosmic consciousness, its bliss and peace, its these and so much more. so dont underestimate the power of the mind

  • referring to rythmiccity's comment

  • I used to smoke weed with friends while listening to this. It takes you to another universe.

  • Weeds ok for this but the whole Search for the Lost Chord album is concieved around acid.

  • There you go man!

Keep as cool as you can!

Face miles of trials with smiles!

    It ryles them to believe,

you preceve the web they weave!

    Keep On Thinking Free!

  • OM is of corse the name of our Heavenly Father in Gnosticim. Our Heavenly Mom is Azna. According to us Gnostic Christians "OM" is the most powerful mantra.

    Peace

  • I once shared with a priest my visit to a Moodies concert. To my surprise he described their music as "heavily influenced by Christianity".

  • You contributed soooo much to the Moody Blues Mike Pinder.......this is one of the best ever......Thank you......and thank you Moody

    Blues

  • Hare Hare! Hare Rama!

  • we called it a kaleidoscope. in paper.. so whats the fuss ´? gs mom

  • The "Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame" indeed. What a joke. Rolling Stone magazine can bite my sack.

There are so many great bands left out of the RRHOF, it's almost an honor NOT to be in.

  • the moody blues were not exactly potheads. the whole album in search of the lost chord is more about lsd and meditation.

  • Love The Moody Blues!!! One of the Greatest of all times

  • This is actually true.. I read an article in Time magazine the article was called and God said The article was talking about everything actually being vibration

  • in the search for eternity pipes and tabs trivial an insignificant...I know why the skies all cry

  • What a song! Mike Pinder is genius!

  • The Mellotron WAS the Moodies Sound...with Pinder gone itz just a shell...

  • These guys are not in the Hall of Fame? What a travesty. I miss Mike Pinder's influence on the band.

  • These guys should definitely be in the Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame. They were REALLY big back then with the famous seven albums. And ever since then, they've done just as well.

  • Graeme Edge's "The Word" is such an awe-spiring verse.

  • And this was before John, George, Ringo and Paul got the trancendendal bug with Maharishi. These guys were the genesis of the whole movement and deserve to be in the RnR Hall of Fame (no they are not!). Shanti OM

  • Transcendental bug?

The Moodys did start practicing TM before the Beatles, and while the Beatles' influence on the TM movement and world consciousness was far greater, this album is what got me started meditating. It was truly a spiritual awakening.

  • Psychedelicly spiritual.....Wow!!!!!!

  • "So they give it a word and the word is OM".

The Moody's touch my soul and spirit like no other music- ever! It comes straight from my Creator in to my being.

  • If ever an album reminds me of the 60s, this does. London in a haze of colour, with my friend June, searching for the lost cord or something, OM! Baby June, OM! xxxxx

  • when i found this today i was transported to the 60s in a purple haze,oh those were the days, and now the sound of the universe has returned...om mani padme om.

  • As clouds go past my head. OM! OM! Heeeeeeaven! Om. Brilliant

  • wow. and the guy who runs "Only Solitaire George Starostin's Music Reviews" hates this song. To Hell with that. This song rocks!

  • RIP Roman! Happy "21" Birthday! I know you have found peace....OM, With All My Love, Just JO JO!

  • Most of the Moody Blues albums are on iTunes now.

  • Trying to find "Send Me No Wine" by the Moody Blues, Threashold Of A Dream.

  • "In Search Of The Lost Chord"...Undoubtedly, the most definitive psychedelic album of the '60s. Hard as Hell to find on CD, but was worth the effort. I never tire of that CD. MOODIES!!!!

  • Believe it or not, but you can find this album in many used record stores...I have it on vinyl and CD and I'll never part with it...this is such a great band...

  • Hey Berr, I went out for dinner tonight to an Indian restaurant, so I figured this was the best video to drop in on to say Hi...

  • What ever happened to Michael Pinder? Why on earth did he ever leave The Moodies?

  • due to the stress of fame. He has done solo stuff and it is good as any. This is a very under rated group that still does one hell of a show.

  • Thanx dude. I was just wondering.

  • Yeah...Mike married an American gal and moved to LA (They since divorced and he since remarried, still in the US). He was also uberstressed from fame and religious pursuits. He just needed a break.

  • Thanx, Senor! I appreciate that!

  • kidding girl! was refering to your chat with t.j.

  • red fced? your bloody well known! saw your poster right next to yousef islam! with a warning to a guy knamed john?

  • ok guys... 'nuff of this..gotta hit the street! (and no, i'll leave the cessna at the field!)..having flashback withdrawel!!!

Can you hear what it say ! aaaahhhhommmmm.

  • berr,

OH MY GAWSH!! YIPES!!! They could really be reading all our stuff?! Uh-oh!!!! lol! XD

  • Hi Terr, Hope you have fun at your gathering tomorrow!

Just dropped into Om for a little citar music...

  • Happy B-Day John! Praise God that brought all of the Moodies together, and Bless us with such breath taking music! Thank You!

  • Trust your intuition my friend. The universe is guiding your life... OM...OM...

  • Girls, there's smoke comin'out of my screan reading this.

  • csapulette,

we have often wondered if "they" ever check in to youtube and read this stuff.

  • Berry,

He is wearing a black leather shirt, SNUG pants, standing in front of the mic, playing his bass, and glancing to his right, you know how he turns that pretty head of his!! It is a sight to behold, I'll tell ya!! And I know you would love to "be hold" of him right now, Berry!! You'd NEVER let go!! LOL! He probably wouldn't mind at all either!! Just a warm, friendly hug from his biggest fan!!! :D *wink wink*

  • BTW, we are under a severe thunderstorm warning and it is POUNDING it down outside, but I just gotta watch "For My Lady" before I log off! I must be insane! LOL!!!

  • Thoroughly indeed!! I was just miffed that they didn't send me a life-sized pic of my Ravishing Ray, dressed in very SNUG jeans, an UNBUTTONED shirt, and barefooted.....oh my stars!!!!! *.* WOWIE!!!!

  • Berry,

I'm sorry you're ill. :( If I were closer, I'd bring you a lovely cup of hot tea with honey and a wedge of lemon! But hopefully you will be feeling better very soon. Hey, the MB's are the best medicine in the world, but unfortunately I can't bring them to ya, or else I would! I'm sure as soon as you saw Lodgey stroll through your front door, you would IMMEDIATELY be cured!!!!!

    :D

  • Berry,

Don't worry Sweetie, you would never offend me :)

I am glad you brought the correct owner of that sexy voice to my attention! Did you know that my Ray also smokes? He lit one right on stage at the concert I atended. Which btw, was July 1994, not 1993 as I had originally recalled. I pulled out all of my old MB's fan club stuff the other day and found my concert ticket stub. Oh, the sweet memories it brought back. I also have an 8x10 glossy of Lodgey, full length, playing the guitar.

  • WOW!! Thank you for enlightening me! I didn't realize Mikey had such a sexy voice, he can read me bedtime stories ANYTIME!!! ^^

  • how they passed the antidopping control? :))

  • Paravasi,

    WHAT???

  • Love this video...Love this song...Love the Moody Blues...

  • And love "Edgies" voice too!! Such distinction and strength!!

  • and the word is....Ahummmm

  • Thank you once again redbaron! I love this song, so mellow and happy!! I used to play it for my youngest baby to help her relax for nap time. That was 20 years ago, and the song will never get old! One of their best!!!

  • I have listened to In Search on vinyl, there's nothing better. I have all of the Moodies "Core 7" albums on record..quite amazing music, but In Search is my favorite by far.

  • Intense. I had to search like nothing else to get the CD "In Search Of The Lost Chord", but it was worth it. Now I got the "Core 7" all on CD, remastered. ISOTLC is my favourite...Try listening to the vinyl someday. Trippy! Thanks for the upload!

  • Fantastic video thank you so so very much! I love this song

  • this is the most trippy song of theirs. Love it!

  • Man This takes me back to a time when I was difting on the smoke and soaring with some bodacious chemicals

  • This is the time of smoking grass and smelling pussys!
