The normal Marines training isn't near as hard as the SEALs..but the Marine Recon training and the SEALs training are about evenly matched since thy're both special forces..

Though MARSOC is very similar to NSWC, they are not at the same level. Marine Recon training is indeed though and will push one to his limits and beyond, but again do NOT compare to BUD/S or SQT for that matter. SEAL training is said to be the toughest training in the world for a reason, surviving a grueling 6 month training that would break a normal being just cant be compared to any other training. Luckily they are all in the same team. God Bless our troops!

@SEALsJuan MARSOC is the equilvelent to DEVGRU or SEAL TEAM 6. Force Reconi s the Marine equilivelent of the Seals. You cant compare them because they are trained for different environments and conditions. and dont try using statistics cause pj drops 9/10.

@davidhlusko SEALs are trained for all environments and conditions for combat, that's why they are the best of the best. 6 months for BUD/S, 3 weeks for parachute jump school, and another 6 months for SQT. Then after years of hard work (most candidates are in their 30's) if you get asked for DEVGRU then its another 6 to 11 months of Operators Training Course. If you don't pass that then its highly unlikely you can ever try again. So I would say MARSOC isn't equalvelent to DEVGRU.

@terryispro Marines have a different mentality which is why your comment really can't be justified. Plus they don't get much funding (USMC that is) to be able to drop someone and not pick him up. The point isn't to just fail someone so you can say you're better than them.

@davidhlusko a lot (not all) of marines think they are the baddest dudes out there (i know this cause i have had many people in my family in the military, and i have been around them before). plus my friends uncle was a SEAL and he's told me all about this stuff. a lot of SEAL candidates drop out on their own anyways.

you are out of your mind if you believe Marines train at the same level Navy SEALs do. Marine have the toughest basic training when it comes to standard military, but you cant compare standard to Special Warfare. if Marines where indeed that highly trained there would be no need for Navy SEALs or other special ops/warfare. Marines are tough SOB's but they will never compare to an ELITE Navy SEAL.

2. You have to learn the right technique for saving someone's life.
