Love this song! Kay is one of the unsung heroes of Funny Face, all the attention goes to Audrey. I don't think she gets enough credit for song - it's the best in the film imo.
Kay totally owns this. Terrific singing, fantastic dancing, she was an incredible talent. She was an enormous asset to Judy Garland (when Judy was healthy enough to be responsive) and she also left an enormous impact on her god-daughter Liza Minnelli, who has recently paid a wonderful tribute to her worth acknowledging....and enjoying!
You'd never know it from this clip that they despised each other. Or at least Thompson despised Astaire. He just didn't like her that much. Too butch! :)
I'm a little amazed this hasn't gotten more views (early as it is). December 4, 2010, and NPR had a great piece on Kay Thompson on Morning Edition. This clip's visual resolution is poor and it can't possibly do justice to Thompson. Still, thanks ANYWAY (as in, beggars can't be choosy!).

This is the only Astaire number in which you hardly notice that he's in it. Kay totally blows him off the screen.

Kay is SO amazing in this film. For me she outshone even Audrey (whom I love) -3

I love Audrey Hepburn I really do, but I hate how no-one seems to ever remember Kay and her amazing voice.

@ItHadToBeKaya Seriously, because that chick had SOUL, with a capital S.
Every move that lady made was a master class in showmanship!
I just wish that more "artists" of my generation were hip to what Kay Thompson was "puttin' down".

To be fair Kay didn't like anyone.

Omg I used to have this movie on VHS but it has since disappeared! I searched for months for this video. I absolutely love this scene from the film.
