does anyone know how to play that lick at 3:04? I've tried it multiple ways but it never sounds the same, especially when i do the dive bomb at the end.
@HBK1337 He's holding two strings down with his index finger and doing hammer-ons and pull-offs above it. What I do is play/pause the song over and over, starting with the first note and keep pausing to figure out each individual note. Once you have the notes, it narrows down where your fingers will go.
@HBK1337 I've decided to learn it also. First few notes are: pick 2nd string holding down 6th fret with your index finger (and keep it there), hammer on/off with your pinky 3 frets up, hit 3rd string one fret down with your ring finger -pick-. Move ring finger over to 2nd string -pick- hammer off it, use middle finger to grab 3rd string one fret down -pick-.
@HBK1337 Once you learn to play the notes well without the tremolo bar, you can switch and just play everything two frets higher with the tremolo bar down. Same thing.
@gilbet oh, ok, i didnt mean to make that question so specific lol. but yeah, i figured thats what he was doing but i tried it and couldnt never get it to sound right.
It's awsome to hear clearly and distinguish between the two seperate guitars for each respective L/R sides. How Randy performed the tracks inconsistant and not perfectly matched is pure artistry. THE best way to get the biggest guitar sound as they are combined together. Although it had been done previously by other bands, this technique on Ozzy records towered other efforts of that time for massive guitar sound.
This just sounds evil-I love it! I especially like the tritonic nod to Black Sabbath in the opening bars of the solo.
