  • Also, if your bowl drains slowly the petcock drain may be plugging. Just screw the filter cap back on and turn the ignition on while the drain valve is open. That'll blow all that shit outta there.

  • would it be about the same for a 1995 f250?

  • good video bud but make sure you inspect that fuel bowl and clean any shit outa there.

  • thanks

  • How do you prime your truck after you run out of diesel?

  • @goldenboygq9 You turn the key over till the fuel pump activates, turn it off then back on about 3 times, it's self priming.

  • Great video, my girlfriend ran my diesel out of fuel and I have to prime it now! So i will try this tomorrow morning

  • Was the water separator screen something specific to the Super Duty trucks? I have an older body style '97 Powerstroke and my filters (even the ones that come with the cap) do not include this.

  • very nice man thanks

  • Thanks! Very straightforward & very helpful.

  • Hey there guy.

Can you tell me if there is a cabin air filter on the 2005 F-150, if so, where can it be?

    Thank you very much.

  • Thanks for the video Im changing my filter right now!

  • How much was the fuel filter?

  • @dustinrolla $39.00 at pep boys

  • @jon998811 Thanks

  • @dustinrolla

I bought the one without the cap and it was $17 each. It was a sale where you have to buy a minimum of three for that price.

  • what if someone was helping u with the filter swap and claimed to have shut the yellow water/fuel dump switch? and when u went to crank it .. u found out they had NOT closed the switch?? just wondering because i changed my fuel filter this morning on my 96 f-250 and exactly that happened. of course its closed now .. but my truck wont start!

  • great video thanks

  • Ive noticed watching the video that the bottom of the fuel filter; the gasket is rinkled? dosent this allow junk past the filter element. also the housing as a bathtub ring around it. The other thing is that the drain is mighty slow emptying out , there is always grunge and water in the bottom of mine.

  • @kbob871 Yeah there shouldnt be alot of water or dirt on the fuel. Try emptying the diesel from the filter into a glass mason jar and let it separate out so you can see any water or crap in it. Its usually due to the water seperator and fuel filter not being changed enough, or needing to be.

  • Thanks for the video. Its not a tough fix but its nice to have somebody walk you through it so you avoid making stupid mistakes.

  • I can't stand the filter with the cap. I just replaced my wix with the old style.

  • Great vid! My first fuel filter change is coming up and this is a great help!

  • 7.3 > 6.0

    That is all. Great Vid

  • Don't forget to replace the filters inside the fuel tank wen you get a chance so you don't have any problems on the long ran how I did

  • This was great... Now I can try it myself.

Great video and he explained all the litte details

  • Nice video, I own a 2002 F-250 with 293,800 miles on it and its my first time changing the top fuel filter, since I've owned the truck, good to see someone walk me through first. Great Job!

  • Hmm factory says you should change your filter @ 15 k. personally I change mine every other oil change. Wow suprised you haven't had to drop 2,500 bucks on new injectors yet.

  • I have a 2004 Harley and that bitch left me on the side of the road. Hope this is whats wrong. I have had the truck 2 years and have only changed the oil one time, lol. OOPS

  • Great job! Thanks.

  • Good job. Glad to see someone finally explain how to use the Yellow/green water drain lever.

Never been done on my truck for the two years I've owned. Hopefully, it won't break when I do it.

  • Appreciate the info. I just bought a 2002 7.3 powerstroke with 105k on it & I was wondering how often I should change the fuel filter? The truck has 121k on it now. I'd appreciate any advice seeing's how this is my first turbo diesel & it didn't come with a diesel owner's supplement. It was bought from a reputable dealership, so I'm prettyu sure they completely serviced it at 105k before they put it out on the lot. Thanks! I changeb the oil around every 5k, but I've never mesed with fuel filter.

  • i change mine every 10k miles just cause im anal and tow 14-20k trailers

  • outstanding thanks for posting this video....

  • this was very valuable information thank you.

  • They always idle real nice just just after you replace that old filter.

  • Thank you for posting such informative videos.

  • Just exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

  • Cool. I hope I can find something as good or better relating to a smaller car. I think I got a basic principle, so that's cool.

  • what kind of car you got bud? its differnt on a gas car.

  • 2003 Chevy Malibu LS. I searched some stuff up a while back and I believe it's along one of the sides near the back of the car.

Sound about what you would expect?

  • yeah thats where it is on most gas cars. its usally on the right side just gotta look for the big silver cilender connected to the gas line

  • searched the web for this info and couldn't find it...thanks for posting the video.
