Just to satiate my curiosity, since i've also done little to no research on the matter, if one already has the Ensemble .. is it possible to have this and the Ensemble run with one another in say, pro tools? for instance one of the modules inside the Symphony being an 8x8, then the ensemble...to get 16x16?
@AncientWords Yes. Make sure to get the Symphony 8x8 module with ADAT on it. You can then put Ensemble in stand alone mode, and connect it with light pipe to Symphony I/O giving you 16 channels of analog I/O.
@MBarriosMata If you are referring to sound quality.. No. Symphony I/O will not loose any sound quality connecting to USB.
When connected to Symphony 64 (PCIe card) you will get better latency performance, but with the USB audio mode, Maestro (comes with Symphony) will give you a low latency mixer.
Please feel free to contact our support department for a more in depth explanation of all the different Symphony I/O connections. 310-584-9394
@apogeedigital@thepoison606. Are you sure about the artis being Whitney Duncan. I couldn't find anything on iTunes or YouTube. Can you provide a link to the song? Or direct where I could buy. Thanks
and for the record that comment below, I have use Rme, digi 002, 003, pro fire, m-audio, on and on and on. But I can attest, apogee when it comes to conversion and digital clocks the heart of your D.A W, they are really hard to beat, and they usually set the standard in that world! the symphony is the only upgrade I need!
I have a apogee ad8000se and a Big Ben from apogee, and it is so true, When he talked about eq! if your convertors are weak, you end up eq'n things to try to make a track sound better.!! That is one of the big stumbling blocks to overcome at home!
Love the Apogee Interfaces and I'll get myself a symphony I/O as soon i can afford one. Also love the work of the two producers and was wondering what song that might be in playing the background… would be great if someone could share the artist and song information. thanks and happy producing.

@guitarsumo007 In release 4 of Symphony I/O you will be able to connect to your iMac with USB. USB will allow 16 channels of I/O.

@apogeedigital Wouldn't that compromise some quality?

@aj13ds Been having the same problem, I'm guessing it hasn't been released. Might be part of an up and coming album or maybe it was never released.
