This song is probably in my top 10 favourite songs EVER, the words are beautiful and haunting. The video is a definitive account of how 'far' Britain has come. Call it nostalgia if you want, but I would leave 'Modern Britain' and Sail Away tomorrow if I could!

@michaelgdobie Well you yourslef are making a generalisation of what you can see... Most people i know got really good GCSE's and are now at UNI, including me. I can cook fantastic meals, ask all my m8s, we go out and have fun, but dont cause destruction like u see on the news. As time has gone by this has grown to be my favourite David Gray song. Have only just stumbled across the video - and it works a treat. The perfect capturing of the way british life squashes people's soul and their aspirations. Sail away if you can!
