That is for Allah to judge on the day of judgement. You cover your head for God, to please him, not for any cultural or family or ethnic value system. The question you should ask yourself is, if Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was alive, would you have the courage to go against his command because the Quran says in several places - Obey Allah and Obey his Messenger. Don't justify something because you want to justify it just coz it suits you - Do it - thats your choice, but don't misquote Islam.

You must be a non-Arab, 'cause the Qur'an in Arabic mentions the hijab clearly, a Khemaar is a head cover, that's why Wine is called Khamr in Arabic, for it 'covers your mind'.

Don't rely on the translations and you better discuss it with a scholar, you might get convinced eventually.

that's an interesting point. from my experience, muslim women who have removed the headscarf have done so for personnal reasons not related to their faith, while continuing to believe that the headscarf is a form of worship prescribed by Allah. Whether they remove more or less than a scarf really isn't an issue and ought not to be.
