practical hands-on is a big plus for learning. The more complete the facilities are, the better for the advancement of learning and development. And UL offers it all!
I'm studing diploma in electronics right now and planning to get into aeronautical engineering. Any advice please? what else courses should i do' during vacation ?
What are the job prospects as an aeronautical engineer in North America and what is the starting income? Im asking because I am stil unsure of which career path i will be taking its either this or bio engineering
@thagodfather007 I know you posted this a while ago, but if you still don't know I think the lower 10% make about $60k, average salary for aeronautical engineers make about $90k-$96k and upper 10% with education beyond a 4 year degree make six figure salaries depending on certain factors. Very good paying job from what I understand and you get to do a lot of cool things. I persoannly love anything that has to do with aviation.

i'm also graduate of aeronautical engineer here in the philippines, a fresh graduate.
to tell the truth, i'm not well trained during our hands-on classes, because of our school's poor laboratory facilities & equipments, we dont even have a working wind tunnel...
i envy those guys in the video...hahaha
i wish i could pass the upcoming Licensure examination for aeronautical engineering here & to work abroad with a high-tech facilities...haha
yeah..even i m tooo interested in it....let's see where it takes me....really awesome to see this video ...and ..really find it as a cool stuff......can any can gve me a layout about to enter in this field as i have Mechanical background......

that is so awesome, i want to be an aeronautical engineer but there's one thing that is bothering me..what are the working hours? and do you get time to do your own personal stuff?
@domas6008 ...depends on what area you go to work in. Could work standard 9-5 job but a lot of engineering jobs are shift work; working nights for instance or 6 days on 3days off something like that. Like I said depends on the company.
@domas6008 i'm looking at aeronautical engineering too. I think the working hours are pretty decent. It obviously depends on the type of work you're doing but an engineer works an average 8-10 hour day depending on windtunnel hours and tests that need to be ran
@domas6008 There are 18 hours of lectures and tutorials each week and some lab hours working on projects, but there is LOTS of spare time for all the fun stuff :)
@UniversityofLimerick 18 hours of lectures and tutorials... son of a... Here in Brussel we have 40 hours a week (1st bachelor year). I have a question though. In ireland can you choose in your 1st year which kind of engineer you want to become? Because here in Belgium we have 2 general years and after that you can choose for like mechanical, chemical, etc.
