i live in kentucky and my family donated and volunteers at 3 of our local animal shelters and we help keep them clean and make sure all the animals have a chance to find a home.

Neuter your animals people! Then there won't be extra dogs, cats, or horses basically being sentenced to death because there aren't enough homes for them! Don't make a animal have babies to see the wonders of birth! Watch animal planet, they have pleanty of it!

If you adopt a animal make sure to run by your personal vet before taking it home and have a full evaluation. Shelters aren't always clean.

Sad thing is,even if they're arrested they'll be treated better than the animals were.

This is just pathetic. The attitude of not doing anything until being forced to, when they KNOW that these poor babies are suffering and dying is inexcuseable. And they shoot them??? Good lord. Where is the "humane" euthanasia??? This is sick and disgusting. Sadly, the poor dogs would be better on the streets. At least there they stand a chance of getting out of the weather and finding scraps of food. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE. I hope these lawsuits "make them do something about it"!!!

In this day, to have conditions so extremely lacking of basic needs for animals, is an embarrassing stain of shame on that community. I'd love to sit with the individuals who oversee these facilities and hear their reasoning of these environments being acceptable. The situation of these shelters is clearly inexcusable and to not immediately make improvements reflects directly on the individuals character who have been charged with caring for these defenseless animals.

An incredibly sad statement on our society as a whole, and how people and places within our country view and treat animals, let alone life itself. We are the most advanced and educated place on the planet, and we cant even get sheltering and caring for animals right. Just look at how we treat our homeless in this country? 21st century times with Mid-evil ethics. We need to get our heads out of an anatomically incorrect position and start righting our wrongs!

I just don't understand the point of having a shelter (or calling it a shelter) if you are just going to throw them into a situation where they don't even have a chance at fending for themselves. It truly is torture.

I'm am very supportive of what's being done against the so called "shelters". I hope you take this just as far as possible. Those people are an absolute disgrace. You should make the suggestion that the workers spend a few days in their 100 degree shack and live in their own feces. I say, why not an eye for an eye?
