  • @buru44 and?

  • Here's part 11 watch?v=fO2A1goWuUM

  • Ana looks like she has fetal alcohol syndrome...look at her face...poor kids...

  • this is unbelievable!!! the parents are asking a 10 year old whether she wants to live with them or on the streets? And the trying persuading her to leave, when asking her what her decision will be. She obviously wants to stay, but how can she when that stepfather will only torture her more. Did anyone notice that at @1:23 Ana says "we're coming back here with them" when looking at the worker, yet her mother and stepfather ignore her in order to get her to leave. God protect this kids!

  • Ana's mother looks less than pleased to have her home :/ What kind of parents let their kids live on the streets...come home...then go BACK to the streets!? They just don't care but they have to act they they do to avoid getting in trouble.

  • Aurolac really fucked Ana up in the long term.

  • @lunaelarvae If you watch Childrens Underground documentary check my new and for now only video on my channel, its old Mihai the little boy from the movie sending a message to everyone ;] for info about ana marian and the kids check my personal website magekeller com

  • thanks a ton for uploading this doc. i saw it nearly a decade ago on HBO and have been searching for it for a long time. i was really excited i finally came across it here.

  • Very good documentary. As Q3t3sh said, it really puts your life into perspective. When I feel like shit and think my life is crappy, I think of these kids so I get happy again, because I know there are alot of people who live alot worse than me.

I have never seen homeless childrens myself (I live in Sweden, so there is a very little possibility that I will come across any), but I want to meet someone and talk to them. That would be cool.

  • @Varcalox wow sweden sounds like a very good place to live in, in most countries of the world, united states, there are tons of homeless, impoverished people, i for one live in a country where i see extreme poverty every day, its not pretty you can't even talk to them because most are not able to talk or will take anything you have in like five seconds

  • Discusting how they forced her to go to bucharest ... its not as if they were like will u stay home, why would you ho to bucharest look at the state you are in ... look at your face ... bruises ... etc ...

And when they preasured her to say she will go too bucharest ... they were relived ...INSTANTLY ... like she wants it ... shes the one with a problem ... its not like all the time she hesitated to give an answer is cuz she wanted to say she wanted to stay ...

  • RONALDO?

  • I looked up Mihai and found him...

That boy touched so many hearts, including mine. It's so nice to see that he was able to escape from that life. No one can give him back his childhood, his horrible father took that from him, but it's something, and I'm so happy that he made it out...

If Cristina really did die, that is so so so sad. That means that her whole entire life was literally spent suffering ='(

I hope it's not true but unfortunately it doesn't sound too farfetched.

  • I'm tired of reading comments that say it's the states or country's fault, this is a collective human problem. I have seen very similar situations in britain and america. It is on our doorsteps, we need to change our perspective on what truly matters and not be transfixed with the latest happenings with Lady GaGa.

  • what languge are they speaking

  • They are pressuring Ana to answer!! Cant they just talk to her calmly. with that kind of talking is that !!..is like they are telling them, "just leave! were broke to sustain your ass!"

God bless all those kids my prayers go to them =(

  • Ana's stepfather is a heartyless a-hole. i dont know why these woman feel they need to put these loser men ahead of their children! whats wrong with that woman? she didnt even hug her children or show any emotion at seeing them.

  • Does anyone know whatever happened to Marian?

  • @sweetleilani85

    search on fb "Marian Turturica"

  • @thegirlwiththeglow i heard she gave up the baby and she was still alive but damn alot did change to these kids i remember i was 12 watching this and now im 20 its pretty crazy . damn

  • i know this sounds crazy and all but cristina is good looking i think she just turned me into a lesbian

  • @TheGottchris christina passed away in 2006 after becomming hooked on heroin and having baby that was taken from her. her girlfriend at the time was a prostitue. RIP CRISTINA <3

  • @thegirlwiththeglow really????? ='(

  • @thegirlwiththeglow ACTUALLY NO!! I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING WITH MIHAI AND THIS IS NOT TRUE!

  • They forced her to say she was going back...

  • Ana's stepfather seems like a douchebag.

  • @staphinfection ana came home again at 14 when her mother had twins to the man. she then had a child to an "unknown man"....... he was more than a douchebag...

  • Macarena... she should pick a new name, whatever name she thinks is the prettiest, and start a new life.

  • Poor Ana ... put under so much pressure

  • So sad.. And.. there's abandoned children everywhere.. and nobody gives a damn!!

They don't ask to be born.. but they are the ones that always pay the price!!..

  • I watched this years ago and when I did a search and stumbled across it again all these years later, it STILL breaks my heart and makes me cry like it did when I first watched the documentary years ago...God why can't we get it right and help these poor kids...they are/were ONLY kids!!! And we b*tch and complain about how we've got it bad!!!! Pleeeeeease!!!! My prayers will be with these kids everyday from hereon in!!

  • IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME, I WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED BY VIOLETA MACARENA ROSU and really want to write her a letter or get in touch with her! I would love to know how she is doing and a update- If you have anyway of getting in touch with her or giving a update then that would be sweet- I would love to offer her some support and help- IF you ever see this macarena then get in touch with me, wish you well

  • @linkavitchC AS OF 22/01/2011: "After twenty days, I received a response today from a social worker in Bucharest saying “Macarena” is still alive. It says she is “fine.” That is the only information reported in the e-mail, but I replied back asking for more specific details from his communications with people around Macarena. He did not speak with her directly." (macarena now uses heroin)

  • The entire video was really sad. I watched the full version in a college course and there wasn't really a happy story. However, in one of the interviews with Christina, someone asked her if she believed in love. She replied "I don't believe in love. I believe in God, He is bigger." I was trying to find this part on youtube, but couldn't. I found it very moving.

  • @madisonirene : you will find it's one of the first chapters and YES her admission is very moving and to a large degree, not only is she confessing the only reality she knows, but it's touching to see how she can still have faith in the midst of all she's gone/ going through!! People like Christina are REALLY the inspirational ones in life!!!

  • oh my God.. these stepfather... he made Ana want to just.. live.. "these is not abandon" WHAT?i can't take these anymore.. i have to pray to receover my soul.. i feel so empty and helpless

  • i think that ana has more brains and personality then her mother

  • new world order they say the beast will rise in the east

  • where's the rest of it?

  • i say all kids in america should watch this and stop complaning and worrying about things that you cant always have this video ive rented and watched and macarena finally went back to her family this is a shame wish i could adopt some of these kids over the top way to little to be out on the street adults cant even make it on the streets let alone some kids they need direction of course kids are going to be wild living on the street what kid doesnt want to do whatever wake up people unacceptable

  • It's not called abandonment?

Then what the fuck are you doing asshole? It's obvious she wanted her parents to say "please stay we love you"

but instead they just gave her and her little brother cold parting words.

These people live in poverty and I can't say I've experienced that, but kids are kids, and no matter how poor you are, the family should stay together.

  • MalyKrtek77, you should post the last part. Most people would like to see what happens with Macarena and Mihai. Too bad this doc is cut off at this point. ;(

  • @SiriussBee pleace tell me what happend with macarena?

  • @innocentul I watched the entire video and did not see what else happened to macarena. She ended up fooling herself to believe her parents were in Bucharest and she had a twin sister, also named Macarena, who was in school and healthy. My classmates and I agreed that this was because she was hallucinating and just another example of how she made herself believe her own lies. Very sad ending with no hope. :(

  • @innocentul Someone else posted the full doc on youtube, it won't let me attach the url here for some reason but the youtube channel is called: o0thelonetiger0o

    Enjoy!

  • Nowadays it's the same deal... u see homeless people all around. I live in Romania and there are lots of them... Our jobs are paid very bad and the system is very corrupt... pitiful country

  • Thanks for posting this. Really puts your own life into perspective...

  • I live in NZ. I have seen teenage street children here, and documentaries about them also (but no younger kids).

I went to India when I was ten, and can't forget the memory of seeing another 10 year old girl living on the street with her mother (opposite my motel). Both their heads had been shaved as an offering to some god. I don't know what this little girls life is like now at age 22. I also wonder what Cristina's life is like now at age 26. I can't get Children Underground out of my head.

  • I remember seeing all 10 parts before. These poor street kids forced to live like this because of Romania's past Dictator and what he did to destroy Romania while robbing it blind. These kids deserve so much more than being forced to live like animals on the street. It is hard to believe that the E.U. does not or can not do more to help them. They are, after all, Romania's future. This is truly a very sad situation.

  • @reddragon696

Well it's not only because of Ceauçescu, he was killed 20 years ago, those kids are much younger. I do not doubt that there are still negative influences on the Romanian society from this era but streetkids you can find in nearly all big cities in Europe. Sure the EU could do lot of things for streetkids but it simply costs money... Btw I live in Berlin and met some time ago a boy in the age of 7 to 9 in the night on the street, while he tried to steel our dog.

  • @MalyKrtek77 I agree completely. The mother uses the old regime as an excuse for her not being able to mother her kids. I am a single Mom, no child support and also live in a former Communist country. The parents in this documentary have no excuse for being shit parents. For God's sake, I am very-very far from living in poverty, but if i my life would ever come to worse, my main and only thought would be my children' well-being. Emotionally and physically. Still is.

  • @reddragon696 The boy was homeless and could wether read nor write, he lived together with a bunch of elder guys who forced him to steal, sure the most of the streetkids here are older as this boy, but the problem also exists in Germany...

  • I agree with you that this is a prob. every country has. Here in the USA, for instance, the Gov. treats it like it doesn't exist in the hope that it will just fade away & that definitely doesn't work. I only mentioned Ceausescu as I think he created a lot of Romania's economical problems by stealing the National Treasury and Romania simply hasn't been able to recover quickly. I imagine it has been somewhat the same for your Country when it absorbed E. Germany and all of it's ruined Economy.

  • @reddragon696 Also, Ceauceascu's control freak nature defined that RU never had a foreign debt (comparing the US debt of 7 Billion usd to China alone), but in exchange, he ran his country like a bad shopkeeper, taking the cash from the till and never clean up the shop. No wonder, when RU became the part of EU, they had to do a massive infrastructure building, since there were hardly any roads, as for just one example. I live in Hungary and many shit parents and systems all over the world.

  • @reddragon696 yes this is truly very sad and all these kids that keep complaning about what thier parents need to do for them i say as long as you have food and shelter but kids in america are very ungrateful selfish and spoiled and for all those adults that pass by with a pocket full of money and do nothing or go by them something to eat dang what a real piece of crap this man that beat macarena like a dog wow you really have to wonder sometimes about humanity as a whole

  • @reddragon696 hey well it wasnt that bad during the communist times cause the mother could hold a job

  • @reddragon696 Romania wasn't in the EU when this was filmed.

  • i'd seen this a long time ago and it has always stayed in the back of my mind. ... Its the most disturbing thing i have seen, these poor kids.
