The only thing that irritates me is the fact that the shackles of the horse occur at every touch the ground. This is not normal? Or is it the breed? Well the video but very nicely done! Sorry for the bad English. I am German and I have the Google translator translated.
@mini54teresa You are soooo right!!!!!! God created such a wonderful animal!!! They are so powerful and strong, they could kill us easily if they wanted to, but they chose to be our partners and friends instead.
Absolutely beautiful! There is no resistance or restriction whatsoever in that horses leg/hoof mechanism. Great heels first landing.. Once again, Beautiful natural movement! This is a great video- Thank you for sharing!
its amazing to watch something like this, that gives you a deep sense of appreciation for the wonderful animals we share our lives with. and this is definitely an amazingly good video for teaching the footfalls in the canter, they are so clear and obvious :)
notice there is no impact/jarring anywhere on the horse's body from the concussion....heel first landing at it's best.......compare that to a shod horse
It is a canter :) A canter and gallop both feature a moment of suspension. Its a canter because the off hind (farthest from camera) and near fore touch the ground at the same time (well, slightly off, but as near to same time as you are likely to see in this kind of work). Wheras ina gallop all four hoofbeats are seporate :)
@justinbiebersbeastly A Gallop is a 4 beated gait, mid way through the video you can see that 2 of the legs touch the ground at the same time which makes its a 3 beat gait
@AapacheBrave technically its a half hand gallop since the off hind-leg and near foreleg hit just seconds from each other instead of at the same time.

I think this is a canter because it looks like a 3 beat pace and I think gallop should be 4?

both canter and gallop contain a bried period of suspension, the gallop suspension is just a little longer. This is a canter :)

Seeing as all four feet are off the ground at one point, that is not a canter but a gallop.
