I Forgot the way to set the default OS but you can Press F8 Before your vista Boots. This might work.

So right now i am using Windows Vista Home Premium and i don't have the disk because it's a laptop. So if i Have a 100 GB partition with nothing on it and put the Ubuntu CD in, will it automatically put it on the 100 GB partition? Because i don't want to loose Vista.

you just restart you PC with the cd in and it will boot , if not you need to go in 2 your bios and set it to boot form CD Rom 1st

Theres a method to boot from USB, so that you can install without the need of a disc, This means you can also duplicate operating systems, like if you have vista on your desktop and XP on your laptop, but you want Vista on both, well, now you can.

Well, if you reformat the main hard drive data will be lost in order to boot Vista if you're using another OS as your main OS. So now I am unable to boot from Vista since reformatting main HDD. Also unable to delete the old Vista files which are using about 10gb of space. The reason I have had this problem is I had installed the operating systems on seperate hard drives.
