These kids aren't "just tall", they can actually hoop. Their height is an advantage in their class but a lot of these kids do play up with older players. You can put them on the court with guys twice their age and they'll hold their own.

Thon Maker could end up being one of the biggest recruits in college history. considering he's 7 feet already, that would make him 7'2 by the end of his HS career (and that is a very modest prediction) . If he's smart, he'll hit the weight room and develop that wiry strong frame (i.e. KG), but even if he doesn't he'll literally be impossible to guard. He could be like durant 2.0

@SKillitFish for some not all. some kids do stand out considerably. many of the pros did at the same age such as lebron, carmelo, KG, tyreke, and so on. there are some late bloomers but not in terms of talent but exposure but that is becoming less and less possible due to modern recruiting and exposure events.

When my brother was this age he was killing everybody and his team was considered one of the best in the nation and he was 6'3 just like these kids dunking and people and by the time he was a senior he only had one d1 offer and he worked just as hard his whole high school career.so as I said earlier, 8th grade and even early years of high school, is way too early to determain success

@SKillitFish not always majroity of time year but there are some kids that are too special. i dont agree that there should be a ranking for prehigh school prospects but more of a mention list for those that dominant. most of the nba american stars were prodigies as was euro ricky rubio. those players mentioned in previous commen t were elite then and are now. some people peaked early (schea cotton. lenny cooke. jaron rush. winfred walton.). mayo peaked as a sophomore. stephenson too
