This seems to be a very popular subject for Honda Owners! I am on door #2 on our 03 Honda Accord 4dr with a bad actuator. For me, it's frustrating to even attempt this fix due to the lack of visibility in the door once the splash shield is peeled back. I had the first one installed by a friend, but want to try it myself this round.

Could you do a video on how to replace the door actuator on a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt? I can open and lock/unlock the door but i can't close it. The car has manual locks.

on my honda the child safety lock is locked and i cant open the door, inside or outside.How do i get the door open???

@ljackson9415 You may need to take the door panel off, and see if something broke inside of the door.

My rear passenger door is locked shut and will not open on my '98 Honda CR-V. Can I get at the locking mechanism once the inside panel is removed?

1994 Accord: The day you posted I was trying to figure out why the driver's side key could lock all of the four locks, but then continued repetitively trying to lock itself again, endlessly. I discovered your video two days later. . . thanks! But is the driver's mechanism much different from the rear door? Is that why you demonstrated on the rear?

Question for you, how do you get the rear doors open if the actuators have failed and the door locks dont budge?

@mrexecutive1 You should still be able to unlock the doors by hand from the inside. If you think they are stuck trying pulling up on the lock while working the outside door handle.  (Sometimes the inside does not work due to child safety locks.)
