In comparing the song in the 2 languages (Kannada and Telugu), Vani Jayaram was just perfect for the song in both languages. It is hard to imagine anyone topping her performance. SPB in Telugu is so pleasant to hear with perhaps one of his greatest performances.

This is perhaps my favorite song (the Telugu version of it). The movie was remade in Telugu. The Telugu version's lyrics for this song are from Dasarathi, with SPB and Vani Jayaram singing perhaps the best ever Telugu film song. You can check the song out on you tube. This is my favorite song period.

I wanted to hear the Kannada original version. Although I do not understand the language, it sounds very good and I am sure the lyrics are excellent as well.

Beautiful song in Kannada too heard both versions but I would say SPB was far better than this singer no offence but his voice did not suit..apparently SPB was suppose to sing this but had dates problem.

But this is a great movie, where is all the innovation gone in Kannada movies? there were so many good movies which were remakes of Kannada.

The melody of the music and most importantly the voices of PB Srinivas and Vani Jayaram evoke strong memories of childhood listening to such beautiful songs on the radio. I m Maharashtrian (marathi) but my native place is inside Karnataka State. I have been listening and liking Kannada Songs from this 70's and 80's since child. This is one my most favourite. Dr.Rajkumar is excellent in his own singing style, though he is not trained singer, but still thousands of these so beautiful songs tell his success story both in acting and singing.

Songs from Chalisuva Modagalu, Kaviratna Kalidasa, etc are some of the great milestones of Kannada Film Industry. Hats off

Yes it was in 1974, i was just six years old.

It was released housefull show in States Cinema Theatre in Bangalore. I recall, before going to this movie, i fell down and got some blood in my fore head, undeterred by that, i was taken to a medical shop, applied bandage and then went to movie. Even, today i have that swelling on my right fore head. When ever, i see that i remember Eradu Kansu, and endendu song. Such an awesome melodious unforgettable song.
