In comparing the song in the 2 languages (Kannada and Telugu), Vani Jayaram was just perfect for the song in both languages. It is hard to imagine anyone topping her performance. SPB in Telugu is so pleasant to hear with perhaps one of his greatest performances.
This is perhaps my favorite song (the Telugu version of it). The movie was remade in Telugu. The Telugu version's lyrics for this song are from Dasarathi, with SPB and Vani Jayaram singing perhaps the best ever Telugu film song. You can check the song out on you tube. It is "Ennenno Janmala Bandham"
This is my favorite song period.
I wanted to hear the Kannada original version. Although I do not understand the language, it sounds very good and I am sure the lyrics are excellent as well.
Beautiful song in Kannada too heard both versions but I would say SPB was far better than this singer no offence but his voice did not suit..apparently SPB was suppose to sing this but had dates problem.
But this is a great movie, where is all the innovation gone in Kannada movies? there were so many good movies which were remakes of Kannada.
This song has the power to swell tons of emotion and nostalgia, joy and sorrow, amongst thousands of people of our generation (born in 1974)! The lyrics are simple yet powerful in terms of the message they convey! The melody of the music and most importantly the voices of PB Srinivas and Vani Jayaram evoke strong memories of childhood listening to such beautiful songs on the radio. That is all we had as entertainment, but it was great, I would never exchange that childhood for one of today!
What an unforgettable song from the maestro P.B. Srinivos ! That voice can melt stones. Although I dont understand Kannada at all, the song holds me entranced.
I m Maharashtrian (marathi) but my native place is inside Karnataka State. I have been listening and liking Kannada Songs from this 70's and 80's since child. This is one my most favourite. Dr.Rajkumar is excellent in his own singing style, though he is not trained singer, but still thousands of these so beautiful songs tell his success story both in acting and singing.
Songs from Chalisuva Modagalu, Kaviratna Kalidasa, etc are some of the great milestones of Kannada Film Industry. Hats off
@Bushrraff : Hey dude, i dont want to drag this nor i want to comment on any one.. every one has their own choice.. before saying any thing to others or hurting others feeling you should be sensible enough.
@Bushrraff Its not wise to talk or comment about tht stuff you dont know.. FYI that movie was made in 1970's.
IF you like some thing then njoy it other leave it. No point in fighting are saying bad about others. end of the day both of us will not get for fighting.. I know even ur matured and can understand other sentiments. rest is upto you... anyways be good human if not good frds! Take care dude
Am I permitted only to say ' very good, excellent' you mean?! hummm.. You ppl r doing that - prising every known/unknown with a flat ' excellent '. Democracy/freedom of expression doesn't mean saying ' jai ' to everything, u agree? That horrible heroine may look like a Marlyn Manroe for you .. not necessarily for all..
Awesome song copied note for note Govinda Divyabharati starrer in the 90s...Bin tere kuch bhi nahin hai jeevan mera ...tu hi meri raat sanam tu mera savera !!

:O Is that the best of his acting days?!!! Oh! my God, I can imagine how his below average could have been. :)) Poor fellas , don't know meaning of entertainment!
Brings back all the nostalgic feelings in me when i was in school days.. Tarikere & Arsikere days..Feel like going in coma for some moments thinking those beautiful days which never return..
hmm...i agree with u vagabondvoyage, Chi. Udayashankar was no mere lyricist.......guys get ur facts right......all of u.......lol......one of my fav childhood songs....good old days, lucky i was there, ty for posting this song
Why not. Good things are always copied world over and there's nothing wrong with that. Many good Telugu ones have been copied in to Kannada. Calling somebody idiot for mentioning a fact is not just harsh but absurd.
Best song, favorite song, melodious song, perfect song - what else there is to say. Thanks. PBS & Vani Jayaram, Rajkumar, Manjula,Rajan -Nagendra and Lyricist have done wonderful job.
Thanks for uploading, One of best songs from Kannada movies of Annavaru Dr.Rajkumar.Meaningful songs from goldenperiod of Kannada cinema 1960's and 1970's.
It was released housefull show in States Cinema Theatre in Bangalore. I recall, before going to this movie, i fell down and got some blood in my fore head, undeterred by that, i was taken to a medical shop, applied bandage and then went to movie. Even, today i have that swelling on my right fore head. When ever, i see that i remember Eradu Kansu, and endendu song. Such an awesome melodious unforgettable song.
And yes, this was GOLDEN JUBILEE movie released all over Karnataka and one of the milestone movies of 70's. I love and miss all those 70's and 80's songs. Dr. Rajkumar, you are only one of your own kind and there is no chance another one like you. Love you sir.

Stupid action & face of Heroine.
Deadly nose of RajKumar , a snake can easily enter in those nostrils :))
I pity Kanada people, who enjoyed him for decades as there was no better alternative or handsome Hero. :))))))))))))
