I personally find this song beautiful and innocent, I don't care for comments that say it could be performed by a ten year old, bravo for them, I am here because I am a Syd fan.
Syd's story is a particularly sad one. After his mind blew up I believe he did receive help from his friends, Gilmour first of all but that wasn't enough :he was given an extra chance and so he recorded his solo albums But we all know too well that when he was in the studio to record, he couldn't even hold a guitar in his hands and Gilmour had to call musicians in in order to finish the albums. Sad. But his short artistic life lives on and fans still miss him after 5 years from his death.
nice song, he definitely still had his abilities in early 70s, it´s a pity he didn´t get any help from his friends when he needed it, maybe he could give more great songs to pink floyd...
@sydjimiizzy that's putting it mildly, sydjimiizzy. I wonder why would all and sundry feel free to comment in something they have no idea of. Makes me sick.
@MrRDiggity ah, you think you are being very clever and informed, don't you? Well, Einstein, no one needs your revelations, and least of all here, you wanker.
Considering the general myth, that mr. Barrett was a lunatic (ooh) and that lunacy made him to leave a great band like "Pink Floyd" (a band which, of course, made MILLIONS OF off of his fate),
it's quite ASTONISHING to read lines like these:
"
Bored and directionless, Barrett promptly headed back to his hometown of Cambridge and — but for a brief dalliance with a band called Stars in 1972, and some abortive recording sessions in 1974 — left his music career behind for good.

@MichalFokt he got LOTS of help from gilmour. If it wasn't for gilmour we might not have all the syd gems we do.

@sigmundfloyder I know, but I was talking about the early 1968, the time of his forced departure.

no offense, but this song is incredibly stale, and could be played by a 10 year old...which is what his brain resembled by this point.

@MrRDiggity yet you're 33 and the song you uploaded to youtube sucks lol. Why dont you write something people enjoy before you start talking shit
