  • I have a large whole shell loaded with these crystals is it worth anything?

  • I have one that has stuff like that. Exactly like that. It is really old.

  • Wow, very nice. It must be about 5900 years old ? ;)

  • Tom Johnson

    His email address is rockshop@cinci(dot)rr(dot)com

  • Look up "House of Phacops" the name of his store .I had a huge one of these but a school kid stole it while I wasnt looking .I was lecturing at a school showing off my stuff .

  • i want one too!

  • If you seriously want one to purchase look up Tom Johnson .He sells these for $10 .I did not intend this as a commercial , but what the hey.

  • Its upper (late ) Ordovician , about 440 million years old .I should have explained these only grow on the inside of a closed empty shell .

  • How old is that fossil?

  • Excellent.

    Thanks again for the videos.

  • Usualy the shells need to be broken apart to reveal this .This occurs accidently , and some people smash them with a hammer .I could never do that .I will have another video outin a day or two showing other specimens with these crystsals crystals .

  • Many fossil hollow spaces are filled in with calcite crystals - brachiopods , trilobites , crinoids , and especialy cephalopods.
