Joel always looks stoned because when making the pilot ep. He stayed up all night and looked and acted tres and stoned for the pilot and the crew thought it was funny and they kept it that way

So was there an episode or 2 that showed why the Larry character left and the Frank character came in? What's the storyline reasons for the change?

@Ermaco74 The only thing Dr. Forrester shows is a milk carton with Larry's face on it. They never mention Tom's new voice. And, TV's Frank was the best!

They actually did mention Tom Servo's new voice as the result of some tweaking. Episode 201 Rocketship X-M.

Larry looks like an "Reverse Jack-O-Lantern" with baby carrots for brows (and is cute). Of course the "Commando Cody" flick going kaputski is a scream, too! Anyone notice Joel's wearing his glasses when he goes to the back of the theater? One of the few goofs revealing Joel's TRUE BESPECACLED NATURE!

Was Larry the original voice for Tom Servo? Its weird but I just can't watch the 1st season. A Kevin Murphyless Tom Servo just isn't a world I want to live in.

Ironically, when kevin murphy took over a fan sent a HUUUUUUGE banner with "i hate tom servo's new voice!!" and kevin thought so much effort was put into it that he kept it and hung it up in the studio. But yeah, any hardcore fan will like all the episodes because its genius from the beginning to end. Larry can be such a funny servo and make hilarious quips. I think i laugh at his the most.

Thats an interesting fact, I didn't know about that. I suppose that the fans watching from the beginning were disappointed. The guy is funny, and he does have some good lines, but that monotone, deadpan delivery is just insanely annoying after awhile. Not to mention the "Larry" character christ is he annoying, long live TV's frank! And as far as giving dimension to the character, I think they really made the right move with Kevin Murphy as Tom.

I must say I prefer T.V Frank to Clay. Frank was loveable albeit a bit evil but Clay just somehow dosen't bring it to the table so to speak. I am glad they went with Frank.
