For the lady at National Marriage: when was the last time your husband asked for your help around the house? Ah! He never did!!!! He probably asked for your attention or company to go out to eat or to the movies, ... He'd rather pay for those! Because many men like to have a wife to share the positive times where they are guaranteed to have fun! No need to hear about their wife's needs... They'd rather work overtime at work to avoid the chores at home! Must be in the testosterone or something...
I feel that if your husband loved you, that he would help when you asked for help. All the husbands I know are so flippin' lazy they let the women do all the work, like little children. Man may work from sun to sun, but a woman's work is never done. So not right.
If your man doesn't help out around the house, it's pretty likely that he just doesn't respect you. Don't stick around. Take a year or two to reestablish a relationship with yourself. When you feel that you are ready, find someone who will respect you.
I...don't get it, I mean, I take a little, simple joy in doing these things around the house, but I don't understand why men won't do it. At the same time, I'm not married, and I do help around the house on my own anyway, but still, why is it so difficult for men to help around the house, and why is it such a huge deal for the woman? Please, someone do message me, I'd love to hear what people have to say as to why, for both questions.
@azreal2006 ok - how about I work full time, pick my daughter up from daycare, go to market, make dinner. Hubby comes home, eats dinner, leaves remainder out. I clean up, wash dishes, sit down w/child fro homework, give bath, read, put to bed, get school lunch ready for next day, take care of dogs. All the while hubby sits and watches tv or plays video games. When I walk by with a 30 lbs. laundry basket to take downstairs, he doesn't turn his head. Not a huge deal - it's a huge deal to me.
@finch6789 Ah...yes, I can see why that would be a big issue. When I posted that I was still single, now I feel terrible about sitting around if my fiance is doing something like that. I am a very lazy person, but the least I can do is avoid being idle. Thank you for sharing your side of this with me. Also, have you asked him to help?
@azreal2006 ah, yes. many times. there's always a big sigh as like I'm always bothering him, and he always says he's right in the middle of something, etc. etc.... I posted that msg. 5 months ago. I've since stopped asking for help.
@finch6789 Ouch...I really feel sorry for you there. I can understand why he might not like housework, (I really hate it) but that is not good. Naturally I can't see it from your point of view entirely since I don't have the same experience, but I can see how that could be very upsetting.
@azreal2006 Men just don't enjoy taking care of the house/nest. It''s a woman thing. Must be in the tetosterone. They are "designed" to be out of the house; They'd just rather work overtime so that they can avoid the domestic stuff. They are just not good at taking care of their home because they simply don't care. Women are more home oriented, even if they have to work full time outside as well! It is obviously not the men's problem! Goodbye guy?
All husbands should help around the house if they want to or not. Why should the women do all the work! Stop tippy-toeing around it and tell him to get off his ass and do something!
