Tango by Francisco Tárrega

It is Habanera by Carlos Garcia Tolsa, which was for 2 guitars. Tarrega transcribed it for 1 guitar (used first part and borrowed a couple of notes in spots where the primary voice switches to 2nd guitar). It has since been eroneously atrributed to him as a Tareega composition as opposed to a transcription.

I like your use of pizz. and then the change to natural the second time. Check out my version. I figure since the piece is originally by Carlos Garcia Tolsa (Enriquetta-a Habanera for guitar duo), and Tarrega didn't give him any credit, it's okay for us performers to do basically whatever we want with regard to interpretation! I grew up listening to Yepes play this piece. And even though I love his version, he really doesn't play what's on the page at all!

My father played this song often when i was a kid, though he never seemed to know whats the name of the song. He just knew how to play it, and it was enough for me to listen. Nostalgia.

i agree turok. you can interpret pieces and make them your own, which is okay, but this, i think, is not the best performance of tarrega's tango: interpretation or no interpretation
