  • Awesome video, VERY informative. I have a 69 Falcon which has been used as a daily drive for years and has some open hand sized dents, most likely from opening doors on posts etc. I was wondering how you get to them please???? Keep the videos coming please. You should do a tuitional dvd and charge for it, you are a VERY good teacher. Many thanks. Cheers, Bob

  • It's great to hear a Kiwi accent for a change (I'm in Hamilton). I like the way you use a big fat old wooden mallet, I was thinking of buying one of those slapper-bars (the tool, not the venue). I'm wondering how best to tackle lots of fairly small, sharp dents in concave panelwork on a car. I know even the PDR guys have trouble on concave surfaces where metal has stretched, so I'm going to respray the panel. Just need to get the dents out reasonably well before filling... Cheers, -Alex

  • @alexshepherd return sweep is always tricky - usually you cant get behind them, so its filler time.

I own a half round slapper (the tool ,not a chubby pole dancer) that was my dads , for such panels . if its real deep spot washers and use a slide hammer ?? good luck Restolad

  • What is your bench made of? Is that a repurposed kitchen countertop?

  • This may be a dumb question but can you over panel beat a panel untill its so britle it just snaps? Iv just rolled my car so theres a few badly dented panels and its an old car so parts are hard to come by but i want to fix it properly not just bog it

  • averagejoe there is no such thing as a dumb question, yes panel steel can work harden, but you would have to stretch and shrink the same area to the extreme . it doesn't really snap it just refuses to be shaped or molded, it becomes impossible to work ,hardened.
