Democracy Challenge - what is it to you?

your talking about a working democracy, NOT democracy itself. most democratic countries DON'T have those things, and they suck, but there's nothing undemocratic about them. democracy is one thing, and one thing only; laws determined by vote. i find it very naive that people can group all their values and everything they consider to be good into one unilateral term, and just say "if everyone just followed this thing, the world would be a perfect place" that's basically what your saying.
