i think the risks with cloning doesnt have anything to do with god. one of the worst fear i have is pool gene contamination, for example,lets say the clone apears great, lives great, reproduce with other people, now after all the mixin on the 50 generation where a lot of humas would share some similar genes, a bad mutation happens to people carring those genes, and they come without a part of the brain or with serial killer tendencies, how could you know it now?

Rather than cloning more copies of humans I think they'd do better to try and figure out what to do with all the extra ones we have already. Anyway, given that each of us is shaped by our lives as well as our genes even if you make 100 genetic copies of a genius, not all of them will live up to your expectations. Maybe none of them.

Think of the possibilities...cloning some of the most intelligent minds, the best singers,the most famous celebrities...Elvis clones walking around performing. Doubt that will ever happen though. But if it did, people could make billions off of that.

First of all, you would get a sick child that way, if you manage to get a child at all, and the only thing that would be indentical as the original, would be the body. The intelect, mind, would be completely different. So in short, if ya clone Frank Sinatra, he might be indentical to him, but his personality would be completely different. Meaning that he probably wouldnt be able to sing.

@meers5 but that is the problem though. you don't get that person back ever. you will get a person who look identical to example: your grandma. but this new individual will have to be born as a baby and you will become old enough to be her grandmother in time. plus that granma here will not be raised during the same time and have the same experiences so she will be a whole different person. remember, cloning only copies the DNA not the "soul" or personality

@2007words Well, DNA genes do contribute to personality though. But like you said, experiences and events and tragedies in life can cause an alteration in one's personality. Therefore it is impossible to fully clone a person.

Lets assume you manage to get a clone of a lost loved one. I'd appreciate the irony when this individual leaves you because they don't like you. And the only person hurt will be you. Selfishness leads to pain for yourself. enjoy, I suppose.

I would love to raise a physical young version of myself, though i know the entity inside the body is not the young version of me but it would be interesting to see.
It is awesome to see a child that looks 50% like you and your lover, but it would also be awesome to see a pure exact copy of you. It's like having a twin little brother.

One might put a lot of stock in science, not realizing it takes leaps of faith in some things as well. Science can prove some things, but not others. We should balance and honour both science and faith.
Note I did not say "religions", but faith.
Faith in the unseen, but an unseen that is felt and present in many lives.
We will know when we pass on.
Some of the most learned, intelligent and scholarly scientists also believe in God or an all powerful presence. Einstein for one.

i think the risks with cloning doesnt have anything to do with god. one of the worst fear i have is pool gene contamination, for example,lets say the clone apears great, lives great, reproduce with other people, now after all the mixin on the 50 generation where a lot of humas would share some similar genes, a bad mutation happens to people carring those genes, and they come without a part of the brain or with serial killer tendencies, how could you know it now?
