  • Good video...

  • @peeweethe1st THANKS DUDE! THJIS IS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME IT EVER HAPPENED TO ONE OF MY WIND TURBINES. IT SEEMED TO BE OK AFTER I MOUNTED THE WIRES BACK A LITTLE FURTHER. THAT WAS SOME HIGH WINDS IN THAT DUST STORM.

  • @muddymuddymuddmann I have Never been in a dust storm. Do you know how fast the wind was and the amps before it failed? I have a small house on the edge of a cliff over looking the sea, Its always windy, I have to try this...

  • @peeweethe1st 40 AND 50 MILE PER HOUR. I TIED THE WIRE TOWARDS THE BACK END AND IVE NEVER SEEN THIS PROBLEM AGAIN. YOU WOULD PROBABLY WANT A 3 1/2 OR 4 FOOT PROP FOR IT UP THERE. THIS WAS A 4 1/2 FOOT PROP. THE SMALLER PROP WILL SPIN FASTER FOR MORE POWER. AND THE SMALLER LENGTH OF PROP WILL HELP KEEP IT TAME AND STRONG.

  • Don't look too bad-just a PIA situation.

  • PITA situation that is...

  • @gwmiv YA SPEAKING OF PIA, I HOOKED UP THE WIND TURBINES LEADS TO THE BATTERIES BACKWARDS. lol

NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE DIODE BRIDGE RECTIDIERS. IT'S ABOUT A 15 MINUTE JOB IF I USE MY BUTANE SOLDERING IRON. I JUST HAVE TO DO IT ON THE ROOF. lol

    LOTS OF FUN.

  • nvm i found it on PART 7

  • Ya part 7 shows the whole thing assembled and explains a few of the details of the auto furling mechanism.

    Thanks

  • nice pics u got there this going to help me to build a cieling fan turbine

  • Its the best close ups of the whole mechanism and its workings after assembly . and immagine that only 900 views compaired to 17000 like my #2 how to vid. 3 out of 5 questions I get can be answered by this video. Thanks and good luck . dont hesitate to ask questions.

  • Thank Andy , Good to hear from you again.

Im surprised that this one has held up to the high winds as long as it has, and still kickin. Take care .

  • This is an old one. it has withstood 75MPH winds about 3 times. it sounded like a lawnmower on high speed. it realy made me wonder if it would make it through. but i have a lot of confidance in it now. i dont know how fast the blades go but i know I have a 4.5 tip speed ratio. It starts furling at 25 MPH and it is fully furled at 38 MPH. so 4.5 foot blade with a tip speed of 171 MPH = 1064.46 RPM TOP SPEED.

  • Thats gr8 ..... :)

  • TNX I have a few programs i wrote that figure all of that stuff out for me the easy way. they are in basic86 language.

  • hello

please tell me when you tested it. what was the max RPM of turbine.

  • could you do the same type magnet install on any ac motor, or are you limited space.

  • Yes most definitly on both accounts. AC induction motors have the coils on the outside though. The induction rotor has to be machined to fit the magnets, and fit tightly plus epoxied so they dont spin outwards into the coils if they slip. Curved mags are a big plus. MUDD

  • THANKS . It was real fun. I hope you rated. i like your new wind toy. are you gonna show it here? MUDDMANN

  • nice video great job

  • THE CAMERA takes the picture by scanning the sensor from top to bottom left to right . so part of the picture gets taken before the rest of the picture gets taken. MUDDMANN

  • i like how you edit the videos now its really good! how come the blades looked all curved?
