Originally blacks had the right to marry whites but then the ban was enacted. Then the Supreme court correctly struck down those laws. So Keith Olderman is wrong in his history. I could ask him the same question. What is his view on polygamy? Does he also support redefining marriage in term of number of partners as well as gender? What about gay polygamy? Would he support that? Where does it end for Olderman.
Since polygamy is not being discussed here, I find your comment or "argument" quite irrelevant, and I recognize that you have nothing substantial to offer. Two people who love each other are exactly that. Anyone who tries to complicate or take away from that when it has nothing to do with them has other issues such as fear and self-righteousness that they should deal with themselves. But please do that without destroying the lives of others. It is completely unneccessary and totally heartless.
Polygamy is being discussed here because that will be the next hot topic in the marriage debate. Polygamy and other forms of marriage are quite relevant. Why do you discriminate against those practice polygamy? Why do you judge them as wrong and same sex marriage correct? Who gave you the authority to make that determination?
If you redefine marriage for one group you need to redefine it for all.
We need to look at this issue with our eyes open not closed and blindfolded as you are doing.
I have found that it is people like you who are blindfolded, and limited by your ignorance that you refuse to overcome due to your own fear and misinformation you have been fed all of your life. I used to think like you, with the best of intentions, so I don't feel anger, but only sadness that you are unaware of the pain and suffering closed-minded people like you create. I know that true enlightenment only comes when we experience truth. I hope one day you find that truth. PEACE.
This is a perfect example of the ignorance that pervades those who support prop 8. This person doesn't even know that "yes on 8" means taking away rights from gay citizens. Furthermore, his hateful language and sentiments reflect the mentality of many who support this divisive measure. Oh, and the spelling, syntax, grammar and punctuation hint at at ignorance too...
I'm not a boy. I'm probably nothing that you think I am. Again, this proves my point. Ignorance, assumption, hatred and fear can cloud minds that would otherwise be reasonable.
WOW! Keith Olbermann, The power of your words have left me speechless. On the night of triumph for the civil liberties of one part of our society to blossom, tainted by the movement to see the rights ripped away from another. Election night was bittersweet at best. But you have given me hope. To know there are many more out there who think like you. People who will call out, cursing the hate and darkness in humanities heart, fighting to stamp it out and fill it with the light of hope and love.

Keith Olbermann moves me with his indoor voice. When Prop 8 is repealed, he should start officiating at weddings.

Thank you Keith; I just signed the petition to reverse Prop 8! The Mormon Church financed this prop; for that they should be ashamed and PAY TAXES!!
I believe in Human Rights, regardless of gender, race, religion, location, or sexual orientation; we as human beings should all have the SAME rights!
Ive been married for 36 years to the same man, and I cant imagine what it would feel like if the STATE told me I couldnt marry!

Do you have the web site for the petition to reverse it, I'll signed it to.
