  • all comments about the vocal range od bruce are nice....good for all you..

  • I never listen this scream of bruce "live" (the number of the beast)

  • bruce seems to struggle hitting some of the higher notes in the final frontier album and sounds strained in almost all the songs

  • @rafacachete47 I haven't listened to the new Iron Maiden album yet. I'm looking forward to getting it because I quite like the single El Dorado As for Bruce, he is not a teenager anymore, on the contrary he just turned 52 few days ago and obviously his voice suffers a little bit when facing the highest notes. He is still a great singer though...

  • @rafacachete47 He hits D5s(high Ds) in several songs, most notably El Dorado, The Talisman(my favorite on the album, also an F2 there) and Mother of Mercy. He sounds strained but very powerful. I think his voice started to change in the mid 80s after powerslave, he didn't hit so much highs anymore, and he finally descended to a true dramatic tenor in the nineties. He has hit E5 in one song in studio after the 80s, that being in the song Legacy from a matter of life and death

  • @Goblonaut I've been listening to new studio album over and over again for 2 days and Bruce's voice actually soars up to many D5s! You're right, in "Mother of Mercy" it sounds a little strained. In the first three studio albums with Iron Maiden Bruce used to hit several high notes. Then, from "Somewhere in Time" on, he set his voice in the range up to B4 (max C5). In his solo career and in the new Maiden-era Bruce has usually hit D5s in some songs. I agree with you, I think he's a dramatic tenor

  • @winterbringer Yea, I think that he really had troubles with his voice in the end of the eighties and started to get more screamy. After his voice settled in the nineties however he regained some of his former range, though last early days like screams are in rime of the ancient mariner and back in the village, then his screams sounded more or less like be quick or be dead scream. In the past 15 yearsr, he has done no screams at all in studio. But many D5s full

  • @winterbringer I think the D5 is his limit if he want's to sing very intensively and still pull it off live, E5s or higher would not propably be very pleasant to the ears! But listen to the live version of Tribuzy - beast in the light duet with Bruce, he hits many powerful D#5s and totally owns the other guy!

  • @Goblonaut Moi my friend, your comments are very interesting. I've just had a look at your channel and found out that you live in Finland. I definitely love your country! I've been trying to learn your language too, but it's quite difficult! I spent a week in Helsinki about three years ago and it was fantastic!

  • Does anybody here know where I can find a link to the studio version of Bruce Dickinson singing "Iron Maiden"? I've been trying to find it, but given the search terms I'm stuck with it seems like finding a needle in a haystack.

  • UnO D miiZ CantaNtez FAboriitOz I Love Bruce :$ xddd♥

  • its the part where he does the scream, its on the second part of it

  • hey winterbringer i just found out bruce thrills all the way up into the 6th octave in rime of thea anciant mariner porto alegre 2008, a C6 to be specific! in fallseto but very strong sounding

  • Hey Onepoley, I've just read your comment. I had watched the video of that gig but I didn't hear such an astonishing note. Are you sure [C6]???

It seems quite weird Bruce could hit that note, his vocal range is very broad and can cover a multi-octave reach though...

If you're sure you heard that note, can you please point me out the exact time Bruce hits it?

  • Great video!

You should do 1999-present period too!

  • Thank you very much SuperCasper1994!

I think I will get it done in a month. Now I'm quite busy and I don't have so much time off to devote myself to a new video collection even though I'd rather...

  • Oh yeah, I forgot, Bruce is the greatest!

  • Thank you! It's very kind of you Iuricastro. You're right, Bruce screams very good on Pass The Jam...

  • @winterbringer Hey, just out of curiosity, since you've heard "Pass The Jam", how high is that? where would it be on your list?

And also, have you heard the 1999 studio version of "Wrathchild", Bruce screams there too. :D

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Iuricastro! Yes I've heard Warthchild 1999 too. I'm very fond of Iron Maiden. They're my favourite band! Well, In "Pass The Jam" Bruce hits E5 in the first scream (6:26) and E5 with G5 (!!!) in the second scream (6:35)!

  • Wow! Thanks once again.

    UP THE IRONS!!!

  • Hey winterbringer, have you heard "Pass The Jam"? it's an outtake from the Dance Of Death sessions, Bruce screams on it. I think it's the latest recording of Bruce screaming in studio.

  • his highest livei believe is on wrathchild in 1983 hammersmith odean, its an A5 and its in head voice

  • Surely, one of his best performance ever!

  • No one should go... WHERE EAGLES DAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... remarkable E5 on that one.

  • Eagles dare only where Bruce's voice dares... E5!!!

  • hey thanks dude! awsome vidio by the way

  • a B5 from gangland and another B5 from to close to rock. hey man i just figured out how to listen to that bootleg, but can you plese tell me the songlist?

  • 1983-05-26 - HAMMERSMITH ODEON, LONDON, ENGLAND, UK

    1) Intro+Where Eagles Dare 2) Wrathchild 3) The Trooper 4) Revelations 5) Flight Of Icarus 6) Die With Your Boots On 7) 22 Acacia Avenue 8) The Number Of The Beast 9) Still Life 10) To Tame A Land 11) Phantom Of The Opera 12) Hallowed Be Thy Name 13) Iron Maiden 14) Run To The Hills 15) Sanctuary 16) Drifter 17) Prowler

  • Which of his notes is the highest?

  • B5 in Gangland. If you mean live, listen to his early bootlegs with Iron Maiden, e.g. Hammersmith Odeon 1983.

  • its not just that he can sing high or low its the way his voice sounds that impresses me...it sounds beautiful but badass at the same time...very unique

  • awsome vidio dude.its clear bruce is the greatest singer of all time

  • can u do one video about matt barlow??, he is fucking great,

    bruce just rocks!!!!!

  • Matt Barlow is definitely a great singer, I'll see what I can do...

  • Yeah I'd like to see that. Jowox did his major high and low notes, but there's still a lot of grey area I at least am not sure of. I still can't figure out where his head voice is :/

  • Check out Jowox's Matt Barlow videos!

  • Best metal singer of all time...

  • I totally agree with you!

  • amazing video! i saw the michael kiske video too and it is terrific. u should do one of those videos featuring rusell allen from symphony x, that guy has an incredible voice too =D

  • Yours is not the first request I've had about making new videos regarding other great singers... As soon as i have more time off i will get down to working on new incredible voices...

  • 7th August 1958 - Happy birthday Bruce! Today you're 51 years old...

  • Simply the best singer in hard rock history.

  • Yes, you're definitely right. In my opinion he's the best, even if there are many great singers around...

  • this is my GOD

  • Mine too...

  • I always loved that guy! But now, After seeing this video, I love him twices more than i already did!

  • In my opinion, everyone is supposed to love him! He's definitely "The Voice"!

  • there is a video of bruce hitting F#5. the song is flight of icarus.

  • He also hits sustained F♯5s in a certain live version of "Where Eagles Dare" here on youtube.

  • Yes, I have got the whole bootleg of that concert... Great gig... Hammermith 1983...

  • Suggestion: You should maybe list a few high notes from his Samson days in another video. Or maybe his solo work.

  • Thank you for your suggestion... I think I will collect some of his high notes from the Pre-Iron Maiden era and solo work...

  • sounds cool ^^

  • Aces High part = wet pants

  • god

  • Freddie Mercury is the boss, Eric Adams is the master, Ian Gillan is the voice, ans so on... and Bruce Dickinson?... He's simply the best...

The others are all great voices too...

  • I thought Bruce Springsteen was The Boss...

  • bruce had the best haircut of all time

  • I agree with you regarding his haircut... His dark-red thick hair is as unique as his voice...

  • Fuck yah i love bruce....the scream on infinite dreams is the best.

  • I didn't point out that scream 'cause after Powerslave (1984) Bruce changed his way of singing, avoiding notes beyond B4... Anyway, it's a very good scream as well...

  • el mejor cantante del mundo!!!no dejo de robarle cuando canto con mi banda jajaj.suerte gente

    bruce mi pilar

    ariel de fenian

    youtube:fenian power metal

  • One of the best singer ever!!! Just awesome screams and high notes!!!

  • You missed "The Trooper", he hits an E5 on the "we won't live to fight another day" line.

  • You're right, but I left that out on purpose but I don't know why... Kinda weird!!! :-)

  • It's strange, because there are three videos on Bruce Dickinson's vocal range here on youtube, and yet not a single one features that E5 from "The Trooper".

  • You're right. You're not the only one who has noticed that E5. Another guy has recently written about that missing! ..."We won't live to fight another day"...

  • Bruce sings Eb5s in Tribuzy's Beast In The Light, check it out, great performance!

  • Thanks Axisundone... I had listened to that song some months ago but maybe I didn't take that note into consideration :-)

  • he´s the best singer ever...but why he can´t this live!!!

  • Yes, I agree with you with the fact that he can be considered one of the best singers ever (he's my favourite one indeed). But I listened to some of his early concerts both with Samson and Iron Maiden when he reached very high notes... Just try to listen to some Maiden bootlegs of the World Piece Tour 1983 or to the Samson Live at Reading '81...

  • The Be Quick Or Be Dead scream actually peaks at G5.

  • Axisundone, I've been listening to the Be Quick Or Be Dead scream over and over again and I must admit that you're right... In the last part of the scream Bruce can hit G5 after sustaining F5 for a while... Thanks for the tip...

  • Great vocal, the second best singer ever. Only beaten by Glenn Hughes.

  • the most great high notes already are here

  • Bruce's highest notes are to be found from The Number Of The Beast and Powerslave...

  • (Just Making this one public) On the album Fear of the dark there were also two Semi-Sustained E5s in the song "Fear is the Key" Though not as good as the high note of "Be quick...".

  • That's right. I didn't point it out only 'cause I thought it wasn't worth the trouble given that he reached F5 in Be Quick Or Be Dead...

  • is there any high note by bruce in his solo albums?

  • I only know a Tyranny of souls... Winterbringer should be able to answer.

  • Bruce on 82~85... is just AMAZING! Today he is better... but he was fuckin' fantastic! oh yeah

  • For me : Bruce is on the top then comes Rob =D i can't believe that I "missed" the concert... i heard all the concert from the clinic (90% of all the quality i could hear!!) it was amazing but Maiden rules for ever!

  • My favourite singers are Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske, Rob Halford, Jan Thore Grefstad, Timo Kotipelto and many others... I heard several Iron Maiden bootlegs regarding the early years with Bruce on vocals (1982-1985)... Just fantastic!!!

  • Bruce voice was ace in 1982.

  • His voice reched the highest peaks in 1984 with Powerslave. But also Piece Of Mind sounds very amazing... The Number Of The Beast is a masterpiece...

  • it was amaging... i am sorry about my foot... :( but it doesnt matter! Halford was GREAT last night!

  • Rob Halford is not a surprise... He's surely one of the greatest metal singer ever...

  • i broke my foot last night hahahahahha on Judas

  • I think you enjoyed the show too much... \___/

  • 24 Hours to Judas Priest! Exactly!!!!

  • Enjoy the show! Have a good time! The priest rocks!!!

  • thanks man! i will hehe.. my favorite band is Maiden and the 2nd one is Judas Priest! \,,/

  • My favourite band is Iron Maiden, my second one is Stratovarius but groups that made history such as Judas Priest, Manowar and many more are surely among the best... Maiden rules \__/

  • i met Bruce this year... at his birthday in London/Warsaw/Prague ..he was very nice with me :D i think thats because i am from Brazil =D

  • Really! What a pleasure it must have been for you! This year is 50 years old but the more the years go by the more his way of singing gets better...

  • yes! that's true... he can hang on hm... maybe 10 years? (tomorrow i will see Judas Priest in Rio... Rob has what? 57 years old?)

  • Let's hope Iron Maiden will carry on doing records "from here to eternity"... Up the Irons! Anyway, yes Rob Halford is 57 years old (25/08/1951)... Judas Priest!!!

  • Yes, he's got a really versatile voice. Just listen to his long carreer both in Iron Maiden and on his own and you can have an idea... My favourite singer...

  • godlike. I'm amazed

  • what an amazing voice!!!

  • yes. one of my favorite vocalists ever. perhaps my number one favorite. the most versatile voice in a band ever.

  • Bruce is the best

  • The notes he can reach are really impressive!

  • true... but he singing today is better :D

  • Yes, that's true... He has improved his way of singing along the years...

  • He used to be way better. He's better live these days though.

  • You think it'd be a worthy mention that he hits D5 in Brighter than a thousand suns from the latest album? Since that is the only time besides "The thin line between love and hate" He's done higher than C5 since Fear of the dark.

  • Then again, yeah it's technically not definitive and there aren't enough new ones for any other videos so nevermind.

  • Yes, You're right! It is surely a worthy statement even if I've just found out that he can even hit E5 in "The Legacy" from the latest album. In my opinion, the more the years go by the more he hits the toughest notes in the sense that the complexity of Maiden songs has switched to a higher level from Brave New World up to-day. Anyway, the highest note he ever reached are to be found until Powerslave...

  • His highest notes are in Gangland and Where eagles dare, am I wrong? Maybe in Rimer too.

  • His highest notes should be in Gangland... But those G5 in both Aces High and Rime of the Ancient Mariner are really impressive and clearer than for example the A5 in The Number Of The Beast...

  • yes... he screaming at SBIT... is amazing!!!

  • What are some good notes from the band Samson? I know of the chorus of Communion and it's C#5s

  • And many C5s at the end.

  • Yes Spydrfish! Bruce hits both C5 and C#5 in the song "Communion" and even D5 in "Earth Mother" but as I've already stated I limited to pointing out only the most significant high-pitching notes Bruce could reach during his career in Iron Maiden till 1992. By the way I will upload another video concerning his career out of Iron Maiden. Anyway in the Samson-era he was really outstanding as well as then in Maiden...

  • C5s and a few E5s in both Riding With The Angels and Bright Lights (which also has a falsetto G5)

  • the second part ?

  • Hi pkcMIL! I'm not gonna upload any other part of Bruce's career. Maybe some among the latest songs are more difficult to be sung but I must underline the fact that Bruce's voice has been changing during the years. For example, if you listen to the album No Prayer for the Dying (1990) or Fear of the Dark, you'll realize that it sounds different than the previous works. In the latest albums since 1999, when Bruce came back to Iron Maiden, his voice has been powerful.

  • Great video, but no-one ever seems to point out that Bruce hits E5 in the Trooper...

  • Yes, he hits E5 in The Trooper when he sings: "we won't live to fight another day". There are many high notes I did not point out only 'cause I limited to stressing the most important high-pitching notes Bruce could reach during his career in Iron Maiden, as a matter of fact I did not indicate songs from his solo-albums or from the Samson-era.

  • super video!! post it as a response to my high note video.

Hallowed has a short D5 at 3.20 (FLY away).Flash of the blade has many E5:s in head in the harmony.

  • Yes Yowox, you're right. I limited to pointing out only the highest notes he could reach in each song in the list.

Regarding your "high note video", I must admit that I didn't find it although you have a lot of videos concerning males reaching high notes. I'm very fond of gifted singers and Bruce Dickinson is my favourite even if Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, Andre Matos, Michael Kiske, Ben Sotto, Mark Boals, Timo Kotipelto, and so on are very very good as well....

  • I have videos with all of them except kotipelto and sotto and matos. but boals is a very different high note singer than sotto...much more powerful.
