  • Wow! Kern hill 400 dining room suites!

  • Apple introduced multitasking with iphone 4 in 2010. They degraded us back in time 15 years and people praise their products :S

  • My crappy computer must been a gaming computer at that time....

  • 0:05 microsoft windows?????? more like microsoft SQUARES

  • why they used the windows xp logo in a windows 95 commercial?

note: i know that windows xp came out 6 years later

  • When I was a kid I always thought the old Windows logo was a flag

  • @Bo0Mhe4d5hOT It is.

  • @realgroovy24 uuhhh.... do you mean 1984 year or windows 94? Because they never had a windows 94 :P

  • why des windows 95 look like 1984

  • LOL wow that's sad! It tells you that Windows 95 is so good yet it doesn't actually show you any of these "good" features. It just has the logo doing weird things. Typical Microsoft. Get a Mac and be done with it.

  • Why the hell, it looks like from the 70s?

  • WHOA 8-bit solitaire and notepad at the same time? HOLY SHIT

  • And so began the Age of Internet ADD.

  • This is the first computer I ever remember using. My grandparents owned it when I was a VERY little kid and I always found it fascinating. The next computer I owned was a Windows XP that my parents owned for their business; then Vista was the first computer that was actually mine. It's amazing to think about how much technology has improved since then. Now I'm 13 and own a MacBookAir.

  • OOOH...I'll have to try this thing called...multi-tasking.

  • thumbup if watching this in 2011!! ^^

  • start mac os x

  • i dont get it. windows 95 looks inferior to macintosh 1984.

Didn't Microsoft learn anything in dat 11 years?

  • damn can wait to get my on this December

  • KERN-HILL 400 DINING ROOM SUITES!

  • 0:28 windows 95: where do you want to go today?

    me: porn site!!!!!

  • ' it used to be difficult for personal computers to do more than one thing at a time' LOL for windows it still is

  • @bongocutter Ummm, no...not really.

  • WINDOWS 98!

  • Microsoft>Apple

  • @BORDNER696

    uhmmm... no. definitely no.

  • Wow, Microsoft . . . You really raised the bar with this one.

  • Multitasking wasn't new in 1995. The Amiga 1000 had in 1985. A shocking 10 years earlier.. just saying

  • Windows 95 couldn't multitask. I used OS/2 back then, that could multitask. I had a friend who had an Amiga 1200, that could multitask. Windows? Still can't multitask...

  • LOL interrupts.

  • m-m-m-multitasking?

    >looks at I phone

    >grabs mallet

  • I had no problams with my old windows 95 ever in my 5 year of using one. But with vista it crashed every day!!!

  • @ZakWeb001 I'm assuming you had them on the same computer? because i've been running it for 3 years and the only time mine crashed was when I was overclocking it and pushed it a little bit too far

  • Windows Phone 7 style

  • @736939 I can guarantee you that the inspiration for Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8 Metro Interfaces were based on coloured construction paper in a Kindergarten class.

  • Imagine if you could go back in time even just 20 years ago and show someone the iphone.

  • @zero00tolerance Of all the multicore wonders of today, you had to pick a phone...

  • @peshozmiata LOL ok let me tell u why ..this video is about windows 95 now imagine if you take the iphone back in time that think is what equivalent to a Pentium 4 .. you're not going to take a giant computer with you instead of a handheld device ? Or the tablet would be fine too...

  • @zero00tolerance I get you on the handheld part, they have the "dazzle" factor, but smartphones are not very fast when it comes to computing speed and are way behind a real multipurpose CPU like the P4. Normally they're ARM (like in the iPhone) - reduced instruction set processors meant to do the limited number of tasks required for a phone. While the 1996 people will be very impressed with the display quality, touchscreen and overall presentation, the computing speed will be disappointing!

  • 0:06 OMFG thats The Metro UI from Windows 8

  • Of course its slow they crammed all that stuff into it

  • Oh look, it's the new Microsoft Store logo. Wait, what?

  • wow...i never realised how fast technology really progressed. Everyone wud proly shit there pants back in 95 if u showd them an iphone

  • I didn't see one thing in this commercial that showed what it was going to do...

  • @GracieAncelotti

That's because if you knew what it was going to do you would have run screaming into a mac dealer.

  • why does Windows 95 look like it's from 1976?

  • @evenairlines I blame VHS! D:

  • @evenairlines Because this video is fucking old

  • @evenairlines Maybe I will be wrong if I say it...But it looks like this commercial is made by french animators

  • @evenairlines microsoft may have benn working on windows since then. BTW it's from 1995 dumbass

  • @evenairlines because back then trackball mice were a THING

  • oh no my comment is not in top comments anymore

  • i use dos WHAT??? to modern????

  • Чё за херня

  • When they showed this on tv, Amiga had been multitasking for a decade!

  • Come on! 7 is better than slow 95!

  • @colgatepony234 dude, this is years and years before 7 came out lol u know what i hate? noobs that have no clue what they are talking about that post crap like that comment on videos like this, OF COURSE ITS SLOWER!!! its from the 90's!!

  • talk about a stupid ad

  • @KriegerBR29 from about 16 years ago? This was a good ad back then.

  • omfg lets play 8- bit solitaire while having notepad open!

  • i don't want to try windows 95

    it's the worst os.

that's why i know the os contains...

    it's too slow.

  • w t f

  • do you guys remember the windows vista ad song and really wanted it? well, here ya go!

    /watch?v=vS4GYJn0no0

  • OMG!!! 400 DINING ROOM SUITES in Kern-Hill!!!

  • press 7 for "ding"

  • AmigaOS 1985:

Preemptive multitasking ( NOT WIN FAKE MULTITASKING!!)

In simple terms: Preemptive multitasking involves the use of an interrupt mechanism which suspends the currently executing process and invokes a scheduler to determine which process should execute next. Therefore all processes will get some amount of CPU time at any given time.

  • @gnuguz Be careful about simply saying "WIN FAKE MULTITASKING", instead of saying Win 3.1 / Win 95 fake multittasking, because you might lead some to believe that even today's Windows lacks preemptive multitasking. Preemptive Multitasking was baked into the consumer product as of Windows XP, which was the product where they first started using the NT codebase for both server and consumer-focused OS's.

  • Multitasking for Windows 95 was having the computer fan running and the processor. Any more than that and FATAL ERROR PRESS ESCAPE TO REBOOT

  • this is the time where the Microsoft started ruling , Windows 98 was awesome and then windows xp was mindblowin then came vista... what ? i said enough :P

  • @yusolaifdfer You forgot the failure known as ME and 2000 which was one of the best versions.

  • When does this come out?

  • Golly ! Windows 95 was released 16 years ago, OK, but this ad seems to be from 1970 !

  • multitasking and win.95....

    myeah right xD

  • multi tasking = LAGG and CRASH

  • Multitask in 1985. Buy an Amiga.

  • @uriituw Amiga did it first, Did it better, Did it with less resources, did it waaaay quicker... and in my case, still does it, Cheers !

  • @niamaru2 guess you were writing this on amiga?

  • Windows 95 commercial says:windows 95 sucks!!!

  • seg 10 de ahi sacaron el diseño de la interfaz metro de windows phone 7!!!

  • start windows 95... start TRIPPIN OUT!!

  • I am SurvivalHorrorUK and Windows 95 was my idea.

  • @SurvivalHorrorUK Wow, you must be proud. The fact Winblows is shit, and this so called "Wonderful" idea, makes Winblows so good. I'll stick with Free & Open Source software.

  • @ConchX cool story bro.

have fun spending lots of time fixing your computer instead of lots of time enjoying it.

I'm using Ubuntu now and it is no match for Windows, or as you said, Winblows.

  • I find it so ironic how some called "WindowsXpFan" uploaded this video.

  • @CamilleonProductions Well at least it's not some macintosh fan.

  • Wow. Makes me wanna go out and buy it right this second...

  • and windows?????? where is??

  • And today there are still idiots who are impressed by multi tasking on the iPhone xD

  • @Flehwah The difference is iOS does it way better AND a phone.

  • @ZaydTalks Lol.

  • @ZaydTalks IOS does not do it better but the mobile aspect is true but it's not true multi-tasking in my opinion on IOS

  • @Flehwah Yep, especially if one takes into account the fact that iPhone's hardware is much more powerful than average computer hardware in 1995.

  • @Flehwah is this a commercial for a phone?

  • @jensbuhler Phones were able to to multi tasking since ... i don't know, but my 5 years old sony ericsson was able to do it ^^

  • @Flehwah

especially considering the fact that it's app switching, not multitasking.

  • @Flehwah Iphone can't even do real multi tasking. It freezes the state and only ever has one app active at a time. webos and android on the other hand have real multitasking.

  • @700gsteak As much as I hate apple, my friend can skype and play on his iPod at the same time.

  • @SuperHOTrains April 2005

  • Microsoft, behind the times even in 1995...

  • PC can suck it

  • HOLY SHIT!!

So now we can open TWO WINDOWS at the SAME TIME?!

  • @PSPHaxxorPlayer863 remove comment nao

  • @PSPHaxxorPlayer863 no it like a video on youtube playing and on a website

  • @SuperHOTrains When WAS YouTube made...?

  • Mac always can and will be able to do more multitasking than a pc

  • They lie..... It's more than 20 years now and they still can't do that apple ftw

  • Sorry Ballmer, I switched to Mac , WITH A CORE i7 SANDY BRIDGE MACBOOK PRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 15.4" goodness to enjoy that Quad Core processor and AMD HD6750 GPU!!!!!!!

  • i likes

  • If you open more than 3 windows at a time, the hard drive will explode and blow off your legs.

I Really feel sorry for those who have the hard drive on the table...

  • It's a switchtasking idiots.

  • i was born in 95

  • 0:05

this should be the windows logo, why mac's look better is beacuse theyre clean.

  • the best part was at 0:33

  • WOW Its so funny how Windows 95 Could Multi-task but now my Damn Windows 7 phone CANNOT. WTF... strange.

  • Comment removed

  • Who knew we would use again that retro look but this time called Metro! LOL

  • Is it just me or the mute button isn't working for this video? WTF?

  • @brutaka359

It does, most likely you just can't click on it correctly, lol.

  • @TheGorrack ..Now it is working.. weird :P

  • heres the proof, Iphone is 15 years behind :P

  • Well, windows 95 actually was a big step forward from previous windows versions.

also for the fact i did not know about any real 'windows' versions other then DOS.

  • It used to be windows, now it's a flags.

  • WOW! NOW MY COMPUTER'S LOGO CAN FLASH, GROW, SPIN, AND CONCIEVE AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My first computer was a Windows 95...It's actually yellowing now.

  • That´s history.. =)

  • ohh lord!

    good times ^^

  • OH MY GOSH YOU CAN DO MORE THAN 1 THING AT ONCE? Already better than damn Windows 7 guess I'm downgrade.

  • @Belailyo- My Vista crashes before I even tell it to! :) GO APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:20 Mom, I think my computer broke again!

  • 400 DINING ROOM SUITES??!?!?!

    400!?!?!?!?!?!

  • terrible!

  • 95 technically did'nt do multitasking, it just pretended to.

  • @astralmagickcraft if you want to be technical no OS can multitasking without a dual core CPU

Multitask: to preform more than one task at the same time.

solo core systems can only do one thing at a time (they just do it fast and switch between tasks)

  • @Unknownboi88

I don't know that much about it but I think any posix based systems, except earlier versions of the linux kernel, (and possibly current, I'm not that up to date) can in fact do more than one thing at a time, even on 32 bit PCs, though that all depends on what "more than one thing at a time" means, and it isn't as clear as it needs to be for such a discussion. it could mean the ability to switch between simultaneous operations or running more than one stream of 0's and 1' at once

  • @astralmagickcraft Nope, sorry, if you only have one core the closest you can get to multitasking is "task switching". A single CPU core by itself can only do one instruction at a time, no exceptions, however they can do about 2 billion of them per second, and switch really fast. The GPU though (your graphics card) is a completely different story.

  • @Unknownboi88

"though that all depends on what "more than one thing at a time" means, "

  • oh yeah

    hell yeah

  • @billgatesxD

    OMG ARE YOU BILL GATES????

  • miss the 90s

  • windows 95 was my idea

  • this is the most awesome commercial i have ever seen

  • around in 1995, when i was 6 months old, mom and me were watching homeward bound: the incredible jorney, and this was one of the tv ad's that was interrupting the movie.

  • This should be the Android commerical, because Android had multitasking right off the bat, like Windows did with Windows 1 (95 was just better multitasking). iPhone OS? Didn't have it straight away.

  • I still have a working windows 98 computer. :)

  • @Sicowkaksin It still may be working, but do you use it?

  • @Rikunius999 yes to play sonic r.

  • @Sicowkaksin You can play Sonic R on Windows XP

  • Multi tasking wasnt new then

  • omg lets play some ate bit solitare while having note pad open!!

  • @ThePresD I ate a bit of solitare myself. It's quite delicious when server-ed on notepad rye, with just a bit of Excel spread-sheet for flavor. XD

    *is a hurricane of puns*

  • @ThePresD Omg let's have word and notepad open at the same time!!! lol

  • @ThePresD and the best thing is: it only takes 15 min. to open these programs
