I remember being in Hoquiam High's concert choir years ago, and I think their best year was my 2004. We had a lot of great, very strong, vocalists that year and the year or two before it.

I also remember finding a copy of this song in the music library when a few of us were looking for songs to perform, and being disappointed that they only had an SSAA version at the time.

These kids did well, but they're definitely no Class of '04! :D

@TheRandomRamblings actually 2006-2008 had by far the best talent... we lost our original director and still sent like 8 people to all state and my quartet competed at the state level as well we had somr real powervoices and some serious range... 2006-08 = no competition lol

I think we did really good on this piece, we worked really hard on it, and it turned out great.

But I guess everyone has their own opinions right?

We can't sing the "Mama I killed a man" part, because obviously like everyones saying, it's not appropriate for school, and It's not in the sheet music for the song.

@situlasitula Well, DUH!!! Of course, this song was written for the specific purpose of Queen to sing it. They never intend for any song to be meant for choir, but they make it that way.

when we sung this, that part wasnt in the sheet music! my teacher says because you cant use that kind language in choir music in schools! because high school is the biggest buyer of sheet music!

My choir teacher always said "If it isn't the whole song, we wont sing it. It's either we sing a whole song or we don't. One part out of it ruins quality..." But that was her. All teachers are different.
