You'd have to look for an a hose fitting connection on your outboard motor, or can get outboard muffs that fit over your legs, check with your local dealer and they'll point you in the right direction for your motor, but well worth doing everytime you use your motor in Saltwater,
No need to run the motor, especially with the newer ones. Just hook your hose up to the inlet, and make sure enough water pressure, so water comes out the tell tale,
