First problem is the volume started going up and down on its own. Then the menu started popping on by its self while I'm playing Xbox.
At first I solved the volume issue by using external speakers while plugging a set of headphones in the phone jack to prevent the TV audio from driving me crazy.
Now the Menu pops on and off while gaming which make it impossible to game.
@RINGO4LIFE Do you use yours as a tv or monitor mostly ? I guess I don't see any problems, because I only use mine as a computer monitor (the past year or so). I only use the tv mode when a storm knocks out the cable on my main tv. I run mine around 4-5 hours per day, no problems with it yet....maybe I got lucky with mine :)
Sorry for the late reply. I use it mainly for Gaming in my home recording studio. When I'm not gaming, I have it connected to a Mac Mini. I have 3 iMac computers and 1 Mac Mini.
I live in my studio producing music/videos, so I got a small set so I could game in the same room rather than gaming on my 46" Samsung HDTV.
I'm about to get a new Mac Pro and three identical 27" computer monitors. One monitor will be for gaming. The T220HD will be use as a surveillance monitor.
Hey mate, the set is cool for a basic setup for gaming in my home recording studio. I'm in the STUDIO most of the time, so a small set works fine next to all my Mac Computers.
My main set is a Samsung 46" HD LCD TV in a clean comfortable environment.
Check out this video to see my gaming setup: watch?v=5BICH6g1EwM
Keep in mind that my gaming setup grew from the date I post the video.
Before you buy one of these JUNK tvs do a google search on samsung tv problems and read consumer complaints on the consumer affairs site. These are the TRUE reviews.
im thinking of buying this to play xbox on... you think it'd be good size to play video games on? im gonna have it at eye level like 2 feet away from my eyes when im playing lol
@snapascrew It works for me.....I use it mostly with pc games. Just make sure you get the component or HDMI connectors, it won't work with the standard analog AV cables.
@sirmasterpimp ya... i might have to get a 19" one but don't know if it's worth it... my current tv is a tube tv that is 20" and not widescreen... so it might be a lot smaller going from 20" 4:3 to 19" 16:9 .... even though my view of site will be much wider.
The Red TOC kills it for me. Are you reviewing your life or the monitor??????? 5ms not 2ms & get a better lamp. OMG you almost snaped it's neck. I'm dizzy now
A little over $300 for me in 2008, It goes for just over $200 now. Great tv / computer monitor for the price.... Works out great for me, I have no complaints.
@Addicted2Gamin Buying samsung is like playing russian roulette that you won't be screwed. 8 years ago they might not have used the cheap, undersized, junk parts that make THOUSANDS of these junk tvs take a crap as soon as the warranty expires.
Oh, you could just connect it to a normal antenna to get tv or you could connect it to a cable line. Just hit menu / channel / antenna and choose between air and cable.
Do yourself a favor. Before U buy a samsung tv put "SAMSUNG TV CLICKING" into a google search and read about thousands of samsung customers that are screwed and pissed off because their samsung tvs took a DUMP just after the warranty expires. Do the search . Don't be the next SAMSUNG SUCKER !!
You can add Lg, toshiba and many others too. Mostly all manufactures have problems with some models, but they seem to correct them in later products. I have also had problems with a samsung tv (a 30 inch crt) which had white lines going at the top of the screen. As far as the reliability of the touch of color series, I'd say they are pretty reliable.
Great review. I just bought this monitor and could not be more happy with it. It's a truly amazing deal for about $200. As far as some people complaining about the speakers. Most tvs have shitty speakers. Hook up some decent monitors and you'll be a happy camper.
Your just too much of a DUMB ASS to do the google search on SAMSUNG TV CLICKING to read the TRUTH. I bash samsung because they screwed me and THOUSANDS of their other customers. DON'T BE THE NEXT SHAMSUNG SUCKER DUMB ASS !!

hello sirmaster. i already purchased this tv last week for nephew for xmas . he will be watching cable & movies.ppl r saying sounds isn't good. how is the sound ?
Its somewhat true, the volume is not quite high enough and there is too little bass (normal tv speakers have more bass). I normally just use one of my cheap 2.1 speaker sets with mine (you can find one for about $20). The speakers are good enough for watching tv, but you may want to check and see about some cheap computer speakers to plug into the side headphone jack to be safe. Everything else about this tv is great. It has a very clear and clean picture and works great with games. Great gift!
Because thats the closest standard resolution that samsung could come up with. Its actually more than 720p, but just doesn't technically make it to full 1080p. Still looks good enough that I can't tell the difference between it and a 50" 1080p monitor. Most of the time I just play games on it, so its good enough for that. When my old tube tv dies, I will probably get a 40"- 50" tv with a nice hd cable box.
Then why would you make such a dumb comment on my video. Not only did you not give me enough information about your monitor "duh its a 1024 resolution" wtf does that mean its 1024X???. I respect people who try to get smart with me and actually know what they are talking about and not some moron who has a keyboard in front of him and has just enough brain power to type something stupid to gain attention.....Go look at someone else's videos kid, I have a no tolerance policy for dumb asses.
Umm actually you can, I went into many computer stores before I made my decision.....I looked at some 720p models, 1080i and 1080p... there is a very noticeable difference. I compare my brothers 26" vizio 720p monitor to my 22" monitor and the 22" has a much cleaner picture.....also In games (which i play all the time on this monitor in hd) I notice the difference between 720 and 1080, no I can't see huge pixels or anything, but the picture is clearer with 1080.
which would you recommend....the t220 or t220HD, im mainly going to use it for my desktop and my xbox 360. I was thinking of using a vga adapter for my xbox on the t220 but would it be a better picture on the t220HD?
There is no difference in resolution between the t220 and the t220 hd.......the only difference is that the t220 is only a computer monitor and the t220 hd is a hd tv and a computer monitor together.

I own the same Junk box.
First problem is the volume started going up and down on its own. Then the menu started popping on by its self while I'm playing Xbox.

RINGO4LIFE 1 year ago
Just a quick update.
I fixed the problem I was having with the volume and menu screen popping on and off and going up and down by its self.
This is what I did. I opened up the TV and the area where the menu and volume controls are, I ripped it out by cutting the cable. LOL
I taped the ends with black tape and put the set back together now I have no problems. LOL
Only draw back is I have to use the remote to turn the volume up and down.
My buyer beware warning strike is over. LOL
