excuse me i have this router i got it with the optimun promotion and i changed its SSID and its pass well after that my laptop broke and it was the only way for me to change it back to normal i tryed resting by clicking its back button but it stayed the same any help??
I may be wrong but i believe the neither the ps3 or xbox 360 use n band wireless (unless you have the new slim 360 or the black 360 wireless adapter) people using this router are better off just switching to 2.4ghz mode you won't benefit from 5.0ghz that might help with speed problems
@ThwardHD I have PS3 and needed to setup a DMZ Proxy Server for my netgear wireless router to get it to work properly but I'm not sure this is going to be the same for xBox and may want to try it... Good Luck!

I have this router and i can't connect to the higher frequency (5ghz)? higher frequency is named Aeon1 And the normal frequency is named Aeon2. Whenever i go on any device (except 1 xbox) only aeon2 shows up. On my Windows 7 dell, on my hp laptop, on my father's 2 laptops, my 2 wii's, the 4 dsi's in my house, 2/3 xbox's. Ive used wireless B,G and N for 2.4 ghz and both A and N for 5 ghz
On 2.4ghz wireless G in the same room i get no more then 30mbps and degrades very slowly as i go out the house.
With wireless A which i think is the 5ghz version of G? I seem to get more towards 40mbps and degrades much faster as i get further away from the router.
@khkbqazwsx Yeah ive been using wireless N 5GHZ and its pretty good though im very fussy and try to avoid wireless especially with gaming. I have to admit i was impressed with 5ghz but i wil take wired over it anyday.

Acronyms like WPA and WEP are confusing enough without him swapping one for WAP two times during this video, which is something else entirely. His explanation of bandwidth for the network vs the net connection is also a load of horse dung.
@Hykon29 well, you need the network adapter only if your laptop doesnt have a built in wifi connection. if your laptop has a built in wifi connection, then you dont need the network adapter. it would be a waste to buy a wireless router if you need a network adapter for your laptop. xP
netgear is terrible. i had nothing but trouble with my dg834n and it burnt out so i put in my trusty 2wire 2700hg-b and the internet is so much faster

Well, i have the WND3000 is think it is, and it is amazing, 1000 feet of wireless range. Only cost me $80.
Before that i had the famous linksys wrt54g, which was amazing, but only lasted me two years, i would go for The first router by netgear, which i havent had any problems with. But if you want to spend $20 less, i would get the WRT54g2, which is the second model.
@kevizzlecwalk check out the buffalo nfinity n router (its on amazon) I use one as a access point I do alot of online gaming bbc2 mostly which takes alot of bandwidth, plus streaming netflix

@callofpaul With the latest firmware, running 2.4GHZ at 270MBit I get 246 all the way across to the other side of my house. (3500 Sqr foot house) 5GHz signal drops too much to get as good of signal strength. But it still does 120 to 150 mbits across the house at 5ghz.
@Gunner4Eva786 depends if you want wireless N and of you want dual band one or 2.4 ghz if your if your wireless card is N you could get the netgear dg 384n V2 one better than V1 or if your on abg get the netgear dg384gt 108 mb router there cheap nowadays about £15 to 20 on ebay and gets a good distance. i had one for 2 years on 24/7 never had a problems. i updated my one to the dg team firmware as its got better setting and tweaks for SNR etc. the DGND3300 has DB and has built in modem
@Gunner4Eva786 well ps3 has only abg modes not N so your best best is a netgear dg384gt thats super G one that goes to 108 mb speeds if you have wireless N laptop or pc go for the Netgear DGND3300 its dual band wirleess N and works on abgn bands also has a built in modem which this one in the vid dont. you can use ;laptop in wireless N mode and ps3 in G mode .
this router sucks for me. i'll have it in one room and my ps3 in the next room.the it is only 13ft and all that seperates it is a wall and i barely get 70% signla strangth and it has this random issue of dropping signla.it would go 70-65-55-78-34-45-65. anyone can help?
@nutripals its weird but try this... put the router in the corner of the other room and the ps3 in another corner. (doesnt matter which corner, any will do) signal should improve
@nutripals you def have a problem, as ps3 only has wireless g not N you should get better distance than that and constant speed it should not be fluctuating. dont have router next to windows as signals bleed out try to have router central . also G top is 54 mb speed no more , N is 130 mb and dual band can get up to 300 mb on 5 ghz band , make sure your ps3 wreless setting are correct. if you google ps3 wirless setting on that router you might get some info on settings.
my settings are correct i assume since the ps3 can connect to the internet with the router fine.it is just the connection doesn't give a strong signal. i have the wireless on 130mbps on 5ghz and 54mbps on 2.4ghz if that helps.
I got this for $40 refurbished instore at compusa and it's a awesome upgrade from the WRT54GS but the Push N Concect button is actually a giant LED indicator light so at night in a dark room it gets slighty annoying(my bed room)

@jareddigby i have one of these, and in the 5 ghz mode i went from my house to neighbour house across the road at about 450ft with my laptop, and signal was exc all 5 bars. no probs at all on net and downloading, will test if further to see what distance i really can get. but i think i achieve what i want to do. they say you can acheive up to 300 metres.

yes you can with no interference. you need a n adapter pci or usb to see the difference of what this n router can do. Its also backwards compatible with a, b, and g too.
I just bought this router and i have a problem i have 2 desktops and they are both connected to the internet, but when i tried to connect to xbox live from the new router it couldnt connect all of the settings are right. I run an xbox360 and multiple PC's over this thing with zero issues. So anyone elses problems are personal. This is a fine router, and ignore the dope in the video. This video is shit the router is fine, nothing crazy, but it does what it promises.

Type in your PC's Default Gateway into an internet browser. Type in your password and username and it will allow you to change all router settings. From there you can figure out what you need.

Well, i have the WND3000 is think it is, and it is amazing, 1000 feet of wireless range. Only cost me $80.
Before that i had the famous linksys wrt54g, which was amazing, but only lasted me two years, i would go for The first router by netgear, which i havent had any problems with. But if you want to spend $20 less, i would get the WRT54g2, which is the second model.

@kevizzlecwalk check out the buffalo nfinity n router (its on amazon) I use one as a access point I do alot of online gaming bbc2 mostly which takes alot of bandwidth, plus streaming netflix

Hey guys can any one give me some helpful advice because i am having problems with mine i just got it yesterday and i followed every step in connecting it i tried yesterday on my ps3, ipod touch, and psp. but my computer is being a huge bitch because i have my modem connnected from ethernet 2 router internet port power everything is in the right spot but in one of the steps it asks you to put your regular modem ethernet cable in to the comp and the other one in to port #1 please read nextcoment

well to really get online you just need a modem.. the router is for iphone,psp,ds and so on... that has wireless to connect online

@Devspagnola I have had nothing but good results with my WNDR3300. Good range, and great speeds. Try updating the firm ware. That did wonders for me.

@callofpaul With the latest firmware, running 2.4GHZ at 270MBit I get 246 all the way across to the other side of my house. (3500 Sqr foot house) 5GHz signal drops too much to get as good of signal strength. But it still does 120 to 150 mbits across the house at 5ghz.

@Gunner4Eva786 depends if you want wireless N and of you want dual band one or 2.4 ghz if your if your wireless card is N you could get the netgear dg 384n V2 one better than V1 or if your on abg get the netgear dg384gt 108 mb router there cheap nowadays about £15 to 20 on ebay and gets a good distance. i had one for 2 years on 24/7 never had a problems. i updated my one to the dg team firmware as its got better setting and tweaks for SNR etc. the DGND3300 has DB and has built in modem

@Gunner4Eva786 well ps3 has only abg modes not N so your best best is a netgear dg384gt thats super G one that goes to 108 mb speeds if you have wireless N laptop or pc go for the Netgear DGND3300 its dual band wirleess N and works on abgn bands also has a built in modem which this one in the vid dont. you can use ;laptop in wireless N mode and ps3 in G mode .

this router sucks for me. i'll have it in one room and my ps3 in the next room.the it is only 13ft and all that seperates it is a wall and i barely get 70% signla strangth and it has this random issue of dropping signla.it would go 70-65-55-78-34-45-65. anyone can help?

@nutripals its weird but try this... put the router in the corner of the other room and the ps3 in another corner. (doesnt matter which corner, any will do) signal should improve

@nutripals you def have a problem, as ps3 only has wireless g not N you should get better distance than that and constant speed it should not be fluctuating. dont have router next to windows as signals bleed out try to have router central . also G top is 54 mb speed no more , N is 130 mb and dual band can get up to 300 mb on 5 ghz band , make sure your ps3 wreless setting are correct. if you google ps3 wirless setting on that router you might get some info on settings.

my settings are correct i assume since the ps3 can connect to the internet with the router fine.it is just the connection doesn't give a strong signal. i have the wireless on 130mbps on 5ghz and 54mbps on 2.4ghz if that helps.

I got this for $40 refurbished instore at compusa and it's a awesome upgrade from the WRT54GS but the Push N Concect button is actually a giant LED indicator light so at night in a dark room it gets slighty annoying(my bed room)

There are blue LEDs on the top that blink to show traffic (where you click to connect your devices using one-click).
This can be very annoying. If you wish to turn it off, click on the dome on the top and they will turn off.
Other than that great presentation of the product.

@jareddigby i have one of these, and in the 5 ghz mode i went from my house to neighbour house across the road at about 450ft with my laptop, and signal was exc all 5 bars. no probs at all on net and downloading, will test if further to see what distance i really can get. but i think i achieve what i want to do. they say you can acheive up to 300 metres.

it's really good i have one! u can make your own key and it doesn't make lagg go its really fast dont mess it up. you cant change settings on the website you get the user name and pass on the back side of it its really sleek

yes you can with no interference. you need a n adapter pci or usb to see the difference of what this n router can do. Its also backwards compatible with a, b, and g too.

I just bought this router and i have a problem i have 2 desktops and they are both connected to the internet, but when i tried to connect to xbox live from the new router it couldnt connect all of the settings are right. I called my internet provider and they said to open 6 "Gaming Ports". Can someone PLEASE help me.

I run an xbox360 and multiple PC's over this thing with zero issues. So anyone elses problems are personal. This is a fine router, and ignore the dope in the video. This video is shit the router is fine, nothing crazy, but it does what it promises.

does it go good through sement walls cause i have a ps3 but it acts weird sometimes like it goes from 25% to 100% back down to 30% sometimes even 17 and 12 percent and its stays at around 20-30% sometimes and i have no idea whats going on any idea?

my cousin just recently bought this. its really great ! there was no lag when i was playing halo 3 on xbox live. even when three computers are surfing the web and downloading things and watching youtube there was no lag at all on the computers and on the xbox 360.
i have his crappy router from hawaiian tel its really crappy !
i play alot on xbox live and when my sister plays games on the computer it makes me lag on live . hope this router will resolve my problem!

Good job. I have this router and it's great. I used to be a Linksys man all the way but no more.
One thing I need to do is get the matching adapters. I'm still using older cards. But it still works better than my Linksys ever did.

Type in your PC's Default Gateway into an internet browser. Type in your password and username and it will allow you to change all router settings. From there you can figure out what you need.
Google Search: Router configure
And click the FIRST link, it should be:
