His obliques are too big. As you can see when he leans over to lay down, it looks like fat instead of muscle. Also, the bald guys' comment (at 3:23) about this exercise giving you a small waste is actually incorrect. When your obliques increase in size, your waste does as well. Professional body builders rarely work them out because of this. Also, if you decide you want to build these muscles, you'd better make sure you maintain it for the rest of your life, because those will turn into fat.
most of what Turkkish says is nonsense. Muscle turning into fat is physiologically impossible, first of all. Large muscle-men who get fat have stopped working out (as much), so their lean muscle basically uses itself up as energy; if they continue to eat as much as they did when working out actively, the new weight they will gain will obviously be fat. Ab workouts, when combined with aerobics, can most certainly give you the lean, small waste.
if i do 100 crunches every day as well as planks and leg raises, roughly how long would it take to get a bulky defined six pack? (at the moment i have a 4 pack but undefined. im bulky but not defined)

It's becauseyou most likely have very low body fat, which means that your muscle isn't naturally defined, just that you have less fat around your abdominal area, therefore needing less muscle for definition. Any lanky, skinny guy can have a six pack, but that's not strong muscle or toned muscle, just skin stretched over existing muscle.

every human being has a "6 pack". Just some people have a layer of fat covering it! If you want a 6 pack, and have fat covering your abs, I suggest running or other cardio AND doing ab exercises..... get rid of the layer of fat to reveal your 6 pack, you can do as many ab workouts as you want it wont get you a 6 pack if you got fat, and remember theres no such thing as "spot fat removal" your body takes fat off where it feels it needs to.
Hey, I'm 15 and i have a 6-pack. I don't really focus on working out, but my sport of choice is Tae Kwon Do, very good for core muscles.
