northern/northeastern (isan) was once part of Laos or Kingdom of Lanxang. that's how the Thai Isan people are Lao-ethnics in Thailand. theyre the old lao people. they speak same dialect as us and eat sticky rice and padag like us. Morlam music is originated from Laos and spread on to Thailand and Cambodia.
