If you are referring to John Frusciante leaving the band again it was something he chose to do, he was not kicked out or anything. He made a statement on his MySpace page in his blog about it saying that there was not drama this time, it was just something that he had to do. John Frusciante said that had changed as a musician, and as a person to the point that he had to move on by leaving the RHCP

I like thier funk as well as thier recent stuff. The subject of drugs is a pretty stupid one, if you need drugs to be good you probably shouldn't be playing and rhcp doesn't need drugs. Flea, Anthony, and John f all almost died from drug abuse, John will have scars for life, and hillel died... I think that is a pretty good reason to quit I don't know to much about the drummer. I disagree wholeheartedly man. Anyone who says Stadium Arcadium is to commercial or it's "what people want to hear" has never sat and listened to it. It's a sonic landscape. Same thing with By the Way, it's so full of melodies and great muscianship. Californication waqs super raw and very awesome. I think BSSM was their best album as well but I like every phase of the Chili Peppers. From the punk funk to the slinky funk on BSSM and to their more mature stuff today.

For me, the Chili Peppers are making some stuff the way they want to. Maybe that's just the way they wanted it to be. They didn't want to relive everything over and over again. Maybe they wanted to just leave that genre to their old albums so that people will still listen to that.
