I posted this to my FB page. However, I am looking to add this to my favs and can't find the button!! OMG I have not heard this song since I was a little girl back in the 60s in Bama. Thanks!
To the family our condolences from Elder Kenneth and Missionary Marilyn Smith. This powerful couple who gave there all for Jesus we celebrate their life with you.
Too young to remember Dr. CJ Johnson, but I was blessed by the songs that his son and grandchildren would sing at Little Rock. Those were good times! I miss hearing Dr. RJ Johnson singing "tell me how did you feel when you come out the wilderness." Can't wait to visit Atlanta to visit his church.

@Speezerina you better run to the city of REFUGE...I feel you because it took me YYYEEEAAARRRSSS to figure out what he was saying in some these verses...lolol
I heard this song in church on this past Sunday, a man by the name of Dr. Love sang it, although his version was a lot longer and a few verses different I still enjoyed hearing it. I think if you can sing this song you have a little talent lol, but it's always good to bless the lord in anyway you can. Great song thanks for the upload.
@anj1185 Can you prove this?Helpful F.Y.I: To say something so strong against another without proof, is wrong(Exodus 20:16). This is a very strong allegations against Dr. C. J. Johnson,if you don't have any proof. If you or your family has proof of this then you may be entitled to royalties.
If not and it's hear say then you destroy his rep. and that's not good.
Think about what the Bible states about false accusers:Exodus 20:16 and I believe this applies towards one another. God Bless
Reminds me of some little small churches back home in Millen, Georgia. New Light Baptist was my home church, but I enjoyed going to churches such as Mt. Carmel Baptist, Sand Hill Baptist, Needful, Kelsey Chapel and the list goes on and on. This is the type sound that I remember coming from these churches.
This is my absolute favorite voice singing this song. There is something about his voice that just strikes. And make you think you better run! Get to the City of Refuge!
OMG??THIS WAS MY GRANDMOTHERS PASTOR AT MT.OLIVE BAPTIST CHURCH IN MOLENA GA,I REMEBER SITTING ON THE PEW WHEN I WAS A YOUNG GIRL LISTENING TO THIS LIL SHORT MAN WITH HTE BIG VOICE..NOT MUCH MUSIC IN THE CHUSCH BUT THE SAINTS CLAPPED AND STOMPED THEIR FEET TO THE BEAT,MAN THIS IS AMAZING.I LOVE THE NEW MUSIC BUT U BETTA NOT DISMISS THE OLE SAINTS!!
I GREW UP IN CHURCH HEARING THIS SONG, IT SOUNDS SO GOOD. YOU DO NOT HEAR THIS IN CHURCH TODAY. THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME BACK TO HOW THE SAINTS USED TO SING WITH NO MUSIC. YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE OF THE SONG.
man this old music reminds me of why i am so proud to be a black man! we manifest a level of creativity that reflects god in earth. only god can take nothing and create something. we have done so for 400 years in this country. my sympathies to you for your loss and thank you for the post.
It has nothing to do with being black. Black pride is racism. Do white people go around saying "I sure am proud to be white because Mozart was white and made white music for white people in a white culture." If it's not okay for white people, then it's not okay for black people, that's called equality. We have a black president, c'mon you should know this. Quit being stupid.
@ShadowColossi Just a little F.Y.I. They don't have to say it, they just do it. Remember actions speaks louder than words. Being proud of your heritage isn't racism at all. You should know why we name things of ours Black or African American this and that. If you don't shame on you and wake up.
@ShadowColossi What does the Bible say about pride in one's ancestry or culture? The Jews were racist toward Genntiles...how did Jesus Christ handle this and what did he have to say....always Christians should look to the Word of God and follow Jesus believe what he says as Truth. We have leave behind the elementary principles of this earth and follow Jesus. Pride is number one sin....period.
