Very rarely. They might down shift in a 180 degree turn but for the most part they are in 3rd gear for supercross.

yeah but if ur on a open track with some hard tite turns u need to shift. at leased from 2-4 but do they still use the clutch at all. cuz i find it a pain when coming out of a corner and getting speed up for a table and its rutted and u need to shift up. i know its not so bad not to use the clutch shifting up but what about down when i need the power right away while trying to hold on going over ruts and up a jump face

O no shit. lol I race one. Yeah keep it in 3rd for supercross. For outdoors just go wide open whatever gear you like. Only down shift when you need some more torque or when the bike starts to bog out.
