I first saw Taj at the Newport Folk Festival at Newport, RI, in 1968. I drove up from DC to see Arlo Guthrie and Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company, but Taj Mahal blew me away. I have seen him since and heard so many local groups do his songs.

BonTaj - you gotta love that. They probably hung out at the Ash Grove in LA. I used to get a blue plate special everytime, at the Ash Grove.
