I like Meshuggah and Periphery, what I see is a BIG difference between them is that Periphery is more melody based with groovy riffs while Meshuggah is all about complexity and polyrhythms (well not all about, but you get the point)

Basically Meshuggah created this style called "Math Metal" so no matter what other band pops up and tries to play this particular style they will be mistaken for the guitar playing of Thordenal,Haake and the drumming of Haake.
