  • I am a musician. I was born in the 1960s. I started home recording in the 1970s. recording tape had been around a while then.

Yes, I use Cubase, Audition, Sibelius, GarageBand, Audacity - BUT I also still use analogue tape.

Recording music is not entirely dependent on digital technologies.

    Otherwise - I like what you're saying!

  • Can you please post the source of the second chart? 4:16

  • African countries are under developed because they were slaves for a very VERY long time.

  • all i hear is blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

  • no christians are the luckiest people alive bc when we die we wont hurt no more you will....and wahta do u believe that organisms formed on their ownall that ape bullcrap , well guess what think about this bud, if that were possible guess what then trees grass dirt all the above would control us and b smarter than us bc it "formed" itself LOL

  • @oldzensoul seriously?

  • But if you were born in 1890, you might have loved mechanics as much as you now love home recording. You've just grow to enjoy something you've come into contact with, not the other way around. You weren't born loving home recording sessions.

  • @pottedfern666 yeah definitely good point, although I loved home recording just as much when all I had was a tape deck and everything I recorded sounded like total garbage (was using the two cassette tapes to do multitracking but by the time I got to more than five tracks, the first tracks would be reduced to noise). But certainly if I was born when recording was completely impossible, then I wouldn't like it. Additionally, there's no way for "me" to be born anytime else, who I am is a product

  • @ubergossen of the environment I grew up in, so it's kindof a stupid thing for me to say in the first place.

  • I wish I was born in 1989. I missed most of the great stuff in the 90's. :(

  • Just so you know, atheism IS a belief system. Atheism is the belief that there is NO GOD. Agnosticism is the belief you DON'T KNOW. Agnostics > Atheists. Is there a God? Thousands of Gods? How the heck would I know? Agnostics are basically Atheists without all the super-annoying "I'm smarter that you are," arrogance.

  • @Jagonath Atheism is not a belief system. It is a LACK of belief. Failure to believe in gods or Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny does not equal a belief system.

  • @Jagonath Ugh... I really hate explaining this to people all the time. Just because you change the words around to say "It is the belief that God doesn't exist" doesn't change the fact that atheism is actually the LACK of belief of any deity and the refusal to believe in a deity without substantial proof.

  • @Jagonath about 99% of atheists including myself are agnostics.

    atheism vs theism

    agnosticism vs gnosticism

Two different things, the first two words describe belief, the second two describe knowledge.

  • @Jagonath not every atheist is like that :) generalizing a group of people in anyway is always bad. if you would of said the ones who do that i would not mind. and yes atheism is technically a belief system when it comes to textbook definition but thats because people have to put a name and classification on it but really its similar to the way a nihilist way of life where you just do give a fuck which isn't a belief system.

  • @Jagonath Atheism is not the belief there is no god. Don't be an idiot. It is the lack of belief in any god. Find a dictionary. Then you won't seem like an imbecile.

  • @Jagonath thats wrong atheism is the lack of belief hence the word atheist a believer is called a theist. are you really that stupid? you must be religious.

  • Are you a yid?

  • that's as good a use of statistics as I've seen in a while !

  • The regular Human Development Index is biased, that why another one was created; inequality-adjusted HDI. Look at where the US ( countries like Canada too)is... Also look at the "distance" between the nr. 1 spot(Norway) and nr. 2(Oz) Quite the "distance". Countries like the US, UK, Israel(what a bit suprise) and Canada are not compareble to countries like Norway even though it might seem like that by looking at the regular HDI.

  • I think people with crappy lives are more likely to turn to some religion to give them strength through self deception

  • Low development and terrible lifving conditions cause people to seek comfort in religion, that's part of the connection.

On the other hand, religion tends to retard the development of a country, so there you have one: A perfect vicious circle.

  • The conclusion that God prefers atheists is a contradiction. Think about it: I don't believe in God, so He prefers me?

  • what!!! a person that was born in 1989 is a thinking adult now!!! f**k im getting old big time!

  • God Prefers Atheists = Oxymoron

  • God doesn't prefer atheist, people think that god still babies us. But he doesn't, now we could think freely of him, without him coming down to Earth and saying why did you do this?! I'm going to flood the Earth! That's not true anymore.

  • Where are the nuclear weapon atheist states? All religion but Atheists have nuclear weapons.

  • @RayKalmNiam Nuclear weapons where developed by Atheists(or at least a good portion of the progress), We can't blame them for thinking that about us.

  • @matidio5 Nope, nuclear weapons were developed by theists.

  • @RayKalmNiam my bad then, I must have mixed it up with something else.

  • Well, your methodology is bunk. Sweden, Norway and Denmark have access to oil reserves, steel and other raw materials.North Korea is also officially an Atheist country yet the development index is extremely low. No function, no sample size, only pure speculation (+ cherry picking data sets). Bad scientific methodology.

  • Pure glee on his face when he delivers that line at the end. I picture him shutting off the camera them just jumping up into a WOOOOO.

  • Looks like it's time to move to Sweden.

  • PPS - and to Ufewl - I would be most interested to read the "real verifiable official data" you mention in your dubious attempt to the refute the fact that theists are OVERrepresented in the U.S. prison population. Could you tell me where I might find this data?

  • PS - Being from Norway and considering the dreadful events of last summer, let me point out that my opposition to religious bigotry and abuse is not confined to the Islamic faith. I consider Christianity and any other monotheism just as repugnant.

  • Those who believe that Islam will "survive" science, as someone put it, should read Ibn Warraq's excellent exposè of The Koran from his book "Why I Am Not a Muslim".

Why is it that atheists and agnostics seem to have a better knowledge of religious scriptures than do individuals who actually profess to believe in such nonsense?

  • Well real verifiable official data shows atheists are twice as likely to be in jail.

God Prefers Atheists to be behind bars!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i took a shot of vodka everytime you said stuff, i died the next hour

  • FIGURES PLUCKED FROM AN ATHEIST WEBSITE

In 2000, 82.9%[3] of the Swedes belonged to the Church of Sweden, by the end of 2009, this figure was 71.3%

THE NUMBER OF ATHIESTS IS 23% NOT THE 85% QUOTED ABOVE:-

Eurobarometer Poll 2005,[13] 23% of Swedish citizens responded that "they believe there is a god". 53% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force". 23% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, god, or life force".

  • 4 minutes of in and he finally makes his point, i had to suffer all that fucking waffle.

    Sweden is predominately Christian.

Secondly can the smart arse in the video tell me why athiest are more likely to end up in jail?

This is from real data from government sources not the fake data on athest web sites.

they are about twice as likely to be in jail.

SO WHAT IS SO LUCKY ABOUT GOING TO JAIL?

  • chirisy over 1 minute in and you have not even made your point yet!!

get the fuck on with it i fucking hate people who take forever to make a point.

  • The chinese have a large amount of non religous and they are one of the fastest growing nations and they seem to be very well educated while countries like the U.S are very religous and are having problems with education and they are declining. Its probably just a hunch but maybe atheism makes a country a better performer.

  • my religious believe did not inflate after i became educated and more wealthy, it became more advanced. Money gives not happiness, good values helps. I don't buy that stories anymore , of a primitive god, therefore Christianity was no option, i have been looking at buddism, which helps more to be a better person, but encourage you to find what fits you, the values itself are most important, you get what u give, you cannot give what u dont have.

  • @roffpoff Religion shopping?

  • @mandmedlem More like , finding some values that makes me better, more concentrated , focused at work , relaxed, better husband. Buddism says take care off your self and it is not a point to picture god anyway (in your head mentally) , I think it is a good idea. I dont want to be "right", but have better values.

  • @mandmedlem orr more like a part of personal development. I really get scared of religious fundamentalist screaming about their religion., and proclaim their religion is the only right. Well we have killed jews , because we knew we where right, dangerous ideas.

  • @roffpoff I think you already have a buddhist aura about you, mr. Lama.

  • @mandmedlem I dont want to display a religion in that sense, but capture good values generally in all religions, I dont see why religion shall separate anything,

  • @roffpoff Have a nice journey then. :) <

  • @mandmedlem to see the religion , you must kill it ;)

  • Source..?

  • what is actually ateism ?, im no christian or belongs to a religion, but i still believe in a creator , ateism is no a believesystem in its own right?????

  • @roffpoff not really a system, just means a lack of belief in a god or gods. Other than that, an atheist could believe anything.

  • @ubergossen Nope. An Atheist only relies on truth.

  • @roffpoff Agnostic is when you believe in a creator, but unsure.

  • @DANandJOEY0 hmm i dont think gnostics ppl agree on that, they might reply the same about christians...

  • @DANandJOEY0 agnostic is when you are neither sure or unsure if there are a creator :P you don't believe in a creator :)

  • @roffpoff you're deist ;)

  • @roffpoff You're Deist. Next!

  • @deventio I will now officially declare myself a deist, better than dentist

  • @roffpoff You're Deist. Next!

  • @roffpoff i think your more of an agnostic. who knows lol im a christian

  • @MrKingvanilla83 I do not agree with gnostics no ...

  • @roffpoff oh... well idk then

  • @roffpoff Atheist means: A=No Theo=God. Therefore, atheists believe there is no God. Whereas agnostics don't believe there is a God but also don't affirm there can't be one. Meaning, agnostics just don't know whether there is a God or not. (They don't rule out the possibility of a God).

  • @celso87 We dont believe into the non existence of god,we deny the existence of god.

We dont believe, we KNOW based on evidence.

  • @roffpoff You're a deist.

  • @roffpoff Atheist means you do not believe in a god and you know there is no god. Agnostic means you don't know if there is a god, because you cant prove it either way. Agnostic-Atheist means you you don't think there is a god but do not rule out the possibility, because you cannot prove it. Agnostic-Theist means you think there probably is a god but again you cannot prove it. It seems to me you are an non-religious Agnostic-Theist. Hope this helps and that you can understand it all

  • @killmaster ok sir , thanks. I do believe in a power(s) higher than myself. I would define god as "all there is" , and this god is not separated from his creation.

  • @roffpoff you believe in a creater so you are a deist. but that derives from judaism/christianity/islamism

  • @ComAntNeLib I believe in a creator(s) , But I also believe we create our reality as individuals by observing, we as individuals create together, which also results in a common public consciousness . I also believe you choose to get here on this planet of free will. I drag this free will a little further. I believe not to pray to a god , because you will end up praying to our own mental picture of god, wish anyway results in you praying to yourself (not a bad idea anyway).

  • @roffpoff ... you can observe that we make our own reality, that has nothing to do with a higher power. how do you choose to get on this planet ? do you know how human reproduction works? ofc praying to a "god" isnt praying to anything, you are jsut talking to yourself wich is a sign of crazyness

  • @ComAntNeLib Creating your reality by observation - is from quantum/string theory , and sounds crazy. I believe in to I's. that we also have a higher "I" , which is above logical, and does understand reality different than the logical I. Call it higher power or lower power, you can associate it with your symbols in your reality as you like.

  • @ComAntNeLib Praying to god , results in praying to a mental image of god , which you created = illusion , and yes it is nothing per say, agree.

  • @roffpoff The correct definition of atheism is a reaction to a theistic claim.

For example you are not religious but you believe in creationism. Our reaction as an atheist is: "We do not think you're right based on the fact that you have no scientific prove to support that claim. Do you have evidence for this claim?"

As an atheist we need to take in the logical default position of a negative because we cannot (easily) prove a negative. Hence "a"theist.

  • @roffpoff YOU ARE REFERING TO AGNOSTIC, wich is atheism without intellect.

  • @roffpoff As @ubergossen said, it's not a system, an atheist is simply doesn't believe in god or something similar, I think you could pretty much say that most atheists believe in the big bang or something similar. An agnostic is someone that doesn't believe in some religion but do believe in some higher essence/spirit or creator.

  • So when the religious nuts dont get the control, people starts caring about progress, economical development , human rights?

  • @roffpoff:

Yes, that sums it up pretty well. ^_^ And because they start to care about human rights, education, healthcare etc. they understand religion even better and it becomes even less relevant.

  • @MsHyde1 I read you , well answered.

  • Yeah, I saw this video before. But something you said makes no sense. If you were 10 years older, why would you be unable to use the software? Is 29 too old to figure out how to use video software? Would you have been like "old man brain .... cannot .... figure out .... how to use .... software!"? Would you, at the age of 19 in 1998, have said "something deep inside tells me that I shouldn't use the software that exists now and should instead wait 10 years"? Not 30, or 50, but 10?

  • @medexamtoolsdotcom haha yeah partly true.

I think I was mostly just referring to the past. There wasn't different music recording software 20 years ago, there was just none at all that you could get for a home pc, or else insanely expensive stuff. You'd have to invest like 10 thousand bucks, which I obviously wouldn't have.

But as for the future, yeah I could have been born later and probably done the same thing.

  • @ubergossen I had an Atari Notator software in the mid-80s. With keyboard and speaker it cost under $3,000. Just so you know. Anyways, atheism/agnosticism/no-religion is running at over 20% in Australia and increasing.

  • GOD PREFERS ATHIESTS IN HELL. LOL

  • islam is the only relegion who survived from the science , that why you see a lot of scientists convert into islam.

  • @EYAD601 haha was that a joke?

  • @rsmi5480 just type" scientist convert to islam"on you tube and see how many result you will get,and i recommnd you to read the book"the bible the quran and science" by dr maurice bucaille.

  • @EYAD601 ha you are brainwashed. Anyone can call themselves a "scientist", please name one reputable scientist that has converted to islam. Even better, name one reputable scientist that is muslim. btw, Dr Maurice Bucaille is not a scientist he is a medical docter. There contains no science in any religous text, any respected scientist knows that.

  • @rsmi5480 dr maurice bucaille is a true scienist he had wrote a great book and he had explained his ideas by reasoning, you can download it from 4 shared..... imagine yourself in the judgment day how would be your situation if you knew that islam is the true relegion and that all athiests will enter the hell ,you will regret and ask the god to return you back to the earth to be a muslim, but god will never do it because it is your chance now to find the truth.

  • @EYAD601 ok so you can't name a respected muslim scientist so tell me one published scientific paper Dr Bucaille has written. Ýou wont find one, I've already checked. Again the second half of your reply tells me you really are brainwashed.

  • here are some videos of scientists who coverted to islam on you tube (watch?v=0IspK651RpY) & (watch?v=j7fancLy3ds) & (watch?v=g2ZIgn1K7E4&feature=related) & (watch?v=QhHr7OBQrKs&feature=related) & (watch?v=p-Fik8H4IOQ&feature=related).

in addition go to wikipedia and type "list of muslim scientists".

  • Thank you for submitting this video. :)

  • Austria was and is a social state and that played a part .Not going to last as it is now backfiring because of general abuse.

  • Austria is still a very religious country and very proud of its traditions. There is a new trend to move away from religion and the effects can clearly be seen. Increasing amount of graffiti, children smoking in open public view, consuming alcohol and showing no respect to others not even to handicapped individuals Areas that were once prosperous are now peppered with betting cafes, whorehouses and strip clubs, the effect of these being clearly seen in the general decay around these institutions.

  • @llewellleo Are they atheist whorehouses? I ask because of Jeshua and throwing the first stone and all that...

  • @RictusHolloweye Are whorehouses normally Christian or religious?

  • @llewellleo Not sure, but when the Catholic world youth day was held in Australia the brothels did a roaring trade.

  • Being from Finland, I can happily say that there are actually a lot more atheists here than this video shows.

For example my whole class is IN the church, but NONE of us are religious. I mean I'm a very solid atheist, and I'm still in the church and have been confirmed ^^

  • @XplosivCookie I think it has to do with peoples' parents answering for them on the census. That's what my mother did!

  • @StabbyRaccoon Well it's not like I'm forced to the church, it's just so I can get a church wedding and all that when I'm the right age for it.

Seriously, those numbers are like that because in Finland NOBODY gives a flying fuck what you believe in.. Hell, even my parents are 100% atheist, but they're in the church too. ^^

    We have freedom FROM religion.

  • hahaha sucked in religious people. Statistics dont lie :P

  • Ireland bitches one of the fastest growing athiest populations in the world up 1680% in only 25years

  • You could also tie happiness to the fact that Nordic countries consume a massive amount of coffee each year compared to the rest of the world. But here you bring specifically the fact that you wish to bring forth. This would be a ''selective truth''. So i am sorry, despite the fact that i have strong national and cultural opinions as a Scandinavian, i do not accept an 8 minute video as enough documentation that Atheism is directly tied to happiness and a good standard of living.

    -Atheist

  • @1NOVAT I don't think that's the point I was trying to make (this was 3 yrs ago, so I could be wrong). The whole atheism causes riches and happiness was mainly meant to be sarcastic. The main point was that if God exists, why is he making atheists mostly have better standards of living?

But that was a rhetorical question, meant to show that god doesn't exist and religion is followed more by the uneducated poor of the world.

  • @1NOVAT i don't think this would be so much a "selective truth" as a statement of study he's taken the time to do. I think it's also a great hypothesis, however at worst it's an opinionative essay. no worse or less baseless than saying coffee consumption makes you happy. I'm sure we both know people that would openly argee with that idea, hahaha. Either way, Atheist High Five's for Everyone!

  • @1NOVAT Surely though an all knowing creator would have set things in motion in a way that the more religious countries drank more coffee? Mull that over my fellow atheist.

  • And another thing: Joseph Conrad was one hell of an author. Even more mindboggling, English was his third language!

    "Oh, the horror..."

  • Excellent stuff. Another interesting statistic is that atheists are UNDERrepresented in the U.S. prison population, suggesting that atheists behave better than superstitious people.

  • why are crime, coruption lower in countires with more atheists.

  • george carlin: "you wanna hear a good bullshit story? HOLY SHIT!"

  • yehhh keep it northern bro!!

  • Yay, Canada is happy :D It's cause we have beer, poutine, and maple syrup.

  • religion is nowadays for failures and losers so they can have a delusion of what they are living and sufferingin this earth for but nothing could be further from the truth.

  • I am from Burundi, and I approve this message :-)

  • @Alineniz really? How is it living in Burundi; do you live there now or you were born there? I don't know too much about the country, I think it's the most densely populated country in Africa? I'm taking a couple courses about Africa this year, actually I should be studying for my history of Africa exam right now instead of writing this haha

  • @ubergossen : hey, I now live in Canada (Toronto). But I grew up there. And you're right about the population density. I do go back there once in a while. It's painfully trying to become democratic after 12 years of civil war. I am a newly de-converted, atheist, so I enjoy browsing atheist content on YouTube :-)

  • @Alineniz Nice. Yeah Burundi seems like it's in a pretty bad place right now, but hopefully things will improve in the next few years.

  • can you say "life is like a box of chocolate"

  • You should adjust it a bit, you were getting somewhere.

But doesn't it seem weird that God would give the countries that worship him less a higher standard of living? That's the only point I was really trying to make (... I think. I made this video a super long time ago ha)

God doesn't favor anyone even if you would worship him and the other person not, "the last will be the first" meant that.

  • Buddhism is completely an atheistic religion, besides the sect of it that considers Buddha God. Reincarnation is a misunderstood concept by most. It only means that you live life the way the person you consider yourself a reincarnation of. Like if I were to consider myself the reincarnation of Thomas Jefferson, I would have to live the way he lived for my claim to be accurate. That's all reincarnation is, it isn't anything magical. Same with belief in Karma, nothing magical, strictly natural.

  • Ok if we run out of one thing we will just goto another.

  • Its not that hard people: the worse your life is the more you need religion to lift u up. Whats really interesting is the happiness scale and the 2 budhist countries witch, correct me if im wrong; have low life standards.. So maybe they should introduce that stuff in africa?

  • @steinafl I'm not sure if the two happiest countries are both buddhist, but you're right about some buddhist countries being near the top of "gross national happiness" despite having a fairly low standard of living. I think specifically Bhutan is like that. Pretty interesting country, I think it's the only country with a monarchy that voluntarily transitioned to a democracy.

  • You should look it from a different perspective. Atheists don't believe in god, so their lack of faith in a good god can't be tested. But theists belief in a good god can be tested, so that's what god is spending his precious time with now he has finished creating his creation. Also the most criminal countries in the world are also the most religious.

In the book of Job in the old testament god even sits with the devil and let him do the testing for him. God is just as evil as evil itself :-)

  • With regards to Buddhism, there are different varieties. There are some that are as you described, but there are some truly atheistic and naturalistic varieties as well.

  • 700th like

  • Here in America, a hilarious incident occurred. Rick Perry in Texas organized a massive prayer to end the drought. The drought worsened, wild fires started, the DOW dropped, and 38 soldiers were killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. A month later, an atheist convention met. On the 2nd day, it rained ;)

  • @mrquinnie429 haha awesome. Didn't hear about that, but that's a pretty hilarious story. Well, semi-hilarious, the fact that people died and had no food is incredibly shitty.

  • @mrquinnie429 Awesome.

  • @mrquinnie429

    Hahahahaha. Fucking awesome.

  • @mrquinnie429 Yet IF the drought had coincidently ended, Christians would boast of it.

  • @mrquinnie429 That's a good one to hit believers with, because the bible actually contains a scientific test for the existence of God. It's in 1 Kings, the story of Elijah and the prophets of Ba'al. There is a drought, which he blames on them. He rounds them up and tells them to pray for rain. When it doesn't rain, he figures he has proved that their religion is false, takes them down to Kishon't Brook, and personally cut their throats. It's good to see the experiment repeated.

  • I'm also a very lucky person.. I'm from Sweden!

    Atheist paradise

  • @swegirl09 I live in Sweden, my family and I moved from the United States. Bad economy and so on. I love it in Sweden. More peaceful. And beautiful landscape and natural environment.

  • SURELY GOD SAYIN DONT BELIEVE IN ME, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

(HENCE NEVER TELL A LIE :))

  • @ashwadhwani what if the lie is required for a good thing.

  • Norway is number 1 on that list today, and has been voted as the best country to live in by the UN, Gooo Norway!

  • You have mistake. Cause and effect. Atheism grows where education is good, hence the developed world. Undeveloped countries with less education will be more religious. Atheism is tied to economic and social development. America is an exception due to the gene pool's corruption with puritanical christians forced out of britain as the UK underwent an intellectual awakening, hence the US has an unusual clinging to religion. Eventually we can hope for atheism to be the vast majority belief and an e

  • @0TheGuru0 Definitely, as I've said in the comments, I definitely don't think atheism causes countries to be poor. Maybe it seemed like that's what I thought in this video (or maybe I said something like that, i dunno this is from 3 years ago). In any case, highly religious areas happen where there is little education.

  • @ubergossen Please use the word resources instead of stuff in the future. appealing to the lowest common denominator is a tactic that the religious use. 8 )

  • @0TheGuru0

Actually American public education is the worst in the developed world, so it follows that there would be a high level of religious people there.

  • If you were born 20 years earlier, you wouldn't even know the concept of home recording, thus it would not be your "passion". You would adapt to the times you lived in, so you would've found another available passion.

  • @TheRealYngin Maybe true, but I was really into home recording when I had equipment that was 20 years out of date. I used to be obsessed with trying to do multi tracking on an old tape deck, it just sounded like crap. When I got modern home recording equipment, it just made the quality of what I was doing a whole lot better.

But if had have been born a hundred years earlier, then I think you'd be right for sure.

  • The factor that is the most likely to predict human development is weather.

The tropical belt around the equator has heat prostration, disease carrying insects,

rust, and rot from being hot and humid. The desert belt on each side of the tropical

belt has little water. Most of the land is in the northern hemispere and most human development is in the temperate zone where we have the best weather.
