Mass Effect HD Part 1: "Intro & Jane Shepard"

Thanks for posting all these great vids, I'm new to the ME world, just finished ME2 with my fem Shep, one of the greatest games I have ever played. I have a ps3 so I can't play this game unfortunately but the DLC comic strip proved helpful to fill me in but seeing the choices I picked regarding the first game thanks to your postings was great. I hope I made the correct choices by letting the rachni queen live, saving the council, saving wrex and ashley only time will tell I guess. Bring on ME3!

@16TheJoker Don't think so. I'm working on Kotor, Jade Empire and then the ME3 demo comes out with the full game out in early March. Somewhere in between, I'm going to try and walkthrough a character in TOR...gonna be busy!

an interesting little tidbit for those who have yet to play Mass Effect. once you beat the game, you can use whatever armor, weapons, abilities, and custom armaments you obtained during your first playthrough and use them on your second one. all you have to do is use existing I.D. when starting a new game.

@padawanmage71 Weird, it keeps crashing Mass Effect on me. I've tried using CamStudio but I can only record for about 10 minutes at a time before it chews up my pagefile and crashes my PC. I haven't figured out how to record on Xbox yet.

@padawanmage71 PC version on PC. I'm running 8GB of RAM, quadcore CPU, Radeon HD 6850 card. The problem I have is that I can't seem to start FRAPS once the game is either up or the game window is active, and when I try to switch back after starting the recording Mass Effect hangs.

(The crashing was with CamStudio, there's no real way around that, seems to be an issue with CamStudio as a program.)

@dartigens10 Damn, that should be plenty! Try this: start Fraps, then run the game. There should be an FPS number on some corner, then you press the default number to start capturing (F9?) you should be able to capture fine. Also, if you have a secondary hard drive, you can save the files there.

Do you know of any ways to record video from the Xbox? I've seen a few videos recorded form the 360 but I've never figured out how it's done.

@dartigens10 I thought the same thing when I first tried fraps, but there is a menu option to not record it or not show it at all. I use to show me when I'm recording (red numbers) and when I'm not (yellow). There are some USB capture devices that allow you to attach them to your monitor while the video is captured on your computer. I know a few people who do it so I'll ask them what device they use.

I think you can pretty much figure most of it out at the beggining "What about Shepard? She grew up in the Colonies" means Colonist, "Held up enemy forces until reinforcments arrived" probably means War Hero, not to sure about that, I never played the game, but I have read up on it quite a bit, I plan on getting it. As far as I remember, Shepard has a conversation with Joker in which he mentiions his/her class sometime in the start, so that's most of it in an eggshell.

Alot of people prefer playing as a female character because the voice actor is much better than the males voice actor.
