Hello, I am not expert at all on this sort of fish, I only have a little experience with my two goldfish, so I would like to ask you something about bettas.

1- how big should a tank be at least, to contain 2 bettas?

2- is it ok to put immediatly one male and one female? I feel sorry to take only one fish in a tank, I don't know, maybee it feels lonely and stuff like that.

3- should the tank be equiped with filter and oxigen like for goldfish? and should it be heated?

@M91AlohaGirl Two bettas? At least five gallons, and there MUST be a divider.

A male and a female... Well only short term, really, it's better to have two males or two females- with a male/female, the male will probably exhaust himself attempting to mate, thus making for a socially awkward situation...

As for filtration, sort of.. It needs to be light, gentle. Bettas DETEST fast water- it can mess with their fins. As for heat, I'd really recommend it unless your home is permahot,

@paulaxa1 Not very long. They need dissolve oxygen too, just not as much of it as other fish.

I love bettas. I have two, a male and female. The male lives in his own ten gallon aquarium and my female just got moved into my 30 gallon "pond" with other fish and lots of plants. They both are very happy :D

my two bettas are two bettas who went to a GREAT home! They always get perfect care and i even wanted to go home early from camp to make sure they were ok so i could make sure they didn't have a disease, because i would've bought the cure for them. and i even read up on all the diseases and breeding and what can get them stressed out.

The only thing from the film that I have to disagree with is that females can be just as vicious as males, so please don't assume that putting together a sorority will necessarily be successful, as they can and will also attack and even kill each other.

4:46 *Cough* Wal-Mart *Cough* In the Wal-Mart store near my, in one tiny tank, they crammed a Betta with some other fish breed. In a nother tank, all the fish in the tank were dead. In a nother tank, everyone else was dead except for this one fish, and no one even bothered to remove the dead ones.

@BlackXSouleStudios That was me playing the guitar. But to be honest it was good if you knew that I never had a lesson in my life and I was only 7 so it wasn't that bad. My brother only put me in 'cuz he's a good brother. A few years later I took lessons so I'm WAY better than that now.

Yeah that is what I do.... Ever since I got my first betta from Walmart not knowing that he was already sick.... poor little guy at least he lived out the rest of his life in comfort :)

it's normal. they can breath atmospheric air air as well, and that kind of air has to get ouf its body..

Some Wal-Mart stores don't take really good care of their fish. My mum bought goldfishes from there.. They died within one week. I bought my first Betta from there, it was kinda small but he lived for two and a half years.

Second Betta Fish do not "drink" their body needs to be moisturized by the water which makes them stay alive which is technically drinking all the time,idiot.

i went to wal-mart and they had two bettas left in a small little baggys, so i bought both of them cus i felt bad and stuck them in two different fish bowls, one got sick and died off, the other is a white and blue one named Flare and he luckily survived, i think retailers should be more careful with their fish though..

i brought a red betta on monday.i filled a old 6 gallon tank w/ bottle waters. i put him it the tank. He's seems to like it. i wish he could have a friend to hang out w/ but i guess there not into that.

Oh no, some bettas do recover from it, but it is very rare.

Dropsy can be cured occasionally, it depends on the cause, as it is not a disease but a symptom, of many different diseases.
