That thing was A horse, It had a big diesel engine and it was pretty well trouble free. The old man would go touch up the blades at noon, We used cotton wood tree's. It brought back good memories when we worked for a living LOL. But it was good work and honest work....Thx for sharing

I worked one summer for my uncle in WV, in 1970, moving from one tract of timber to another. Now I have a Wood-Mizer. Once it gets in your blood you have to keep on doing it. Thanks for posting!
Wow!! Thats pretty cool to see how everything like this originated!! I just started working in one of the most advanced saw mills that can cut a cant like that in about 2 seconds!! We have came a long way!!

interesting, i live in region where there still are lots of small sawmills, but we don´t know this type of sawmill here.
Here they usually work with reciprocating saws or with a bandsaw.
Also the mobile ones are normally bandsaws.
Think running a circlesaw with such a huge open blade would cause a lot of problems here in Germany
