Loads of people say it's a father/daughter relationship...if that was the case then some of the stuff would just be weird. Like when Gibbs returns from the coma and he puts his finger on Abby's lips then kisses her cheek. If my dad done that, I'd be a bit freaked out? I've always been a Gabby fan..and I see it as more than a father/daughter relationship... Great vid by the way :)

I never have gotten any kind of father/daughter vibe off of the Gibbs/Abby relationship, more a close friendship or FWB relationship, now that I've watched all 7 seasons. NCIS is my only must-see programme.

Also do not recall any mention of Abby's father at all, just mentions of her mother being deaf and the watcher left to fill in the blanks--father left, possibly before Abby's birth? father dead? I think the former.

@expatcanuck79 In the episode, 'Sea Dog' (season one or two) Gibbs tell Tony that both of Abby's parents are deaf. My thoughts in the episode where she tells Ziva tells her that she should talk to her father is that Abby's dad died and therefore 'he'll never come back'.

I read on this video's commentaries that Abby's dad is dead, so I wanted to know in what episode did they mention that...

@asa29992 That information was actually in someone else's comment. They hadn't mentioned it on the show at the time of my original comment. It does support my theory, though! I don't remember for sure what episode, but I think it might have been "Enemies Foreign" (Season 8, Episode 8), where Ziva's father comes back, because I think Ziva and Abby were talking about fathers and that's how it came up. But I can't swear to it.

I remember Abby said something like "it's not nearly as complicated as knowing that they're never, ever going to come back again" I think that's why some people assume that her father is dead.... Gibbs has child issues, especially daughter issues, because of his little girl. Somehow he surrounds himself with people who have Daddy issues, i.e. Tony and Ziva. Everyone gets what they need-- his team has a daddy, he has children. So far as I know, Abby doesn't have any particular Daddy issues, but to me it looks 100% clear that she's a stand-in for his dead daughter. Except... they flirt now and then...?

@blackbear10172 No, he's not. Gibbs is as much a father to Abby as Grissom was a father to Sara on CSI. The stick up the anti-gabby seems to be the age difference. Which pisses me off. The age difference between Gabby and Gil/Sara aren't all that great. But wasn't as fucking huge a stumbling block on CSI as it is on this show. I bet if Abby dressed her age, some of you would grow the hell up. But she wouldn't be Abby then, would she?

I don't enjoy Abby with McGee so I'm not going to seek them out. Or if a NCIS vid have too much of them, I stop watching. See. Easy. I don't leave comments saying stuff like "Yeah, they're cute, but McGee is like her brother." It makes as much sense as a Tony/Ziva fan watching Ziva/Ray vids.
